Within Atlas, create service to allow project owners to schedule shutdown/start up times of cluster to reduce hosting costs
Request to provide an enhancement to the Atlas service to allow project owners to schedule shutdown/start up times of clusters(or databases) and provide some notification of a successful shutdown and startup. This should be a feature with the Atlas UI and API.
This will allow teams that have non-critical environments to effectively "turn off" and freeze the state of a cluster in order to reduce hosting cost during off hours. This can provide a better value proposition for existing customers and a selling point for new customers, without having to introduce a third party tool that requires additional configuration and/or…

Push Atlas org events and projects to S3
Similar to cluster logs being pushed to s3 feature, if a feature to push organization, project and cluster events to s3, our event ingestion pipelines could be simplified significantly. Without the feature we are forced spin up event ingestion agents and make them reliable/available. These ingestion agents source the events via API and publish them to cloud watch logs, that are eventually fed into our observability stack. If the events can be pushed into s3, we can eliminate multiple intermediate components.

Backup Compliance Policy to enforce "Snapshot Distribution"
Backup Compliance policy currently can help with protecting snapshots in other regions using "Keep all snapshots when removing additional snapshot regions" option to prevent users from deleting backups copied to other regions. However we do not have a way to enforce that snapshot backups are copied to all regions where a primary could be elected.
In order to achieve faster RTO having backup snapshots in all regions where a primary can be elected is important. Hence the feature to enforce copying backup snapshots and oplog backups to other regions via backup compliance policy is very important to compliance mandates and…

(RBAC) Remove CREATE_COLLECTION grant from INSERT permission
In according to the least privilege principle we would like to have a better granularity when defining roles. This feature would help us to have uncontrolled collection creations by applications

Need Prior notification For The Scheduled maintenance
We have noticed that our servers undergo scheduled maintenance, resulting in unexpected reboots. However, we lack information about the nature and purpose of these maintenance activities. We require a prior notification regarding scheduled minor/major maintenance to ensure that we can take proactive measures from our end. This would enable us to prepare appropriately and minimize any potential disruptions or issues caused by the maintenance.

In the Performance Advisor, the recommended indexes to drop are only avaible throw the cnsole. We would like to have this information available from the API.

Safe mode to pause non-essential changes
I'd like to be able to put the cluster into a "Safe Mode" during an incident.
For example, I'm responding to an incident or I suspect something's fragile or breaking, and I don't want any scheduled activities to make it worse or distract me. I also don't want to have to know what changes are scheduled, I want to pause them all regardless.
This would pause any scheduled or non-critical changes, like upgrades, building indexes, probably resyncs, etc.
But it would keep running cluster-safety/health-supporting mechanisms like auto-heal, and probably backups.
And it would put up a banner on the cluster…

Support hourly backup every 24 hours, or support Point-In-Time restore without an hourly backup
To have Point-In-Time restore, an hourly backup policy is required.
However, the maximal interval for an hourly backup is every 12 hours.
I would like to take a backup only once every 24 hours, but still have Point-In-Time restore possible. So, please support either PIT-restore without an hourly backup policy in place, or support an hourly backup policy with an interval of 24 hours.

Allow to change defaultWriteConcernSource to global to avoid flipping the flag
Customers experience following error messages due to the defaultWriteConcernSource mismatch between the source and target cluster when restore the snapshot.
Error: Can not restore a snapshot with custom default write concern 1 to a cluster that does not have a custom default write concern.
Error: Can not restore a snapshot with custom default write concern majority to a cluster that does not have a custom default write concern.
Ability to directly change the defaultWriteConcernSource without flipping between w:1 and w:majority will be convenient for the users.

BI connector host name via API call
BI connector hostnames in the Atlas UI: https://www.mongodb.com/docs/atlas/bi-connection/ is not supported via API , Currently, customer has to manually copy and store the values to be reused by other applications. The customers are hoping to get these values in an automated way, for example with API calls or SDK.

Setup the Atlas web user's team membership as part of the invitation.
Doing so, removes the extra step of assigning the team after the user has accepted the invitation.

Add storage class configuration option to Cloud Backup snapshot Export to S3
Setting the desired value for
x-amz-storage-class
header for the S3 PUT Object for snapshot export so that exported snapshots can be put directly to the desired storage class without any custom lifecycle rules and wait time on S3 side.2 votes -
Permit downloading of serverless instance snapshots.
Currently this is not supported. The consequence is that there is no way to restore just a single database or collection from a snapshot. This obviously greatly reduces the value of snapshots.

Support for VPC Lattice
Additionally to the existing VPC PrivateLink Endpoint method to have connectivity it would be great if I could integrate a MongoDB Atlas project via a VPC Lattice service and share that one with customer accounts on AWS. - Red Bull Media House

add cluster manager email
Hi,
It would be nice to be able to assign a cluster manager email / contact per cluster and not per project. We have different team members managing different clusters within each of our projects and it would be great if we could alert them specifically on specific events in a cluster (like new index suggestions, disk increase, etc.)2 votes -
Atlas raise alerts if resource consumption hits threshold notifications only when it's already scales up to the max tier
Atlas can be configured to raise alerts if resource consumption hits threshold only when the Atlas cluster already scales up to the max tier allowed. This can be help to avoid notification spams which does not require operation team actions and focus on the critical resource consumption alerts like cpu, memory, disk IO.

Use kubernetes Atlas operator to create and manage only users
We are already managing the Atlas project using terraform and do not want to have two separate tools managing the same resource. We would still like to generate atlas users automatically through the operator. If there was a method of just providing the project ID as a string like we are able to in the terraform resource definition, this would not be a problem.
2 votesWe're planning an investigation into this in Q2 (May-July for us). It's something more than one customer has asked for and allowing an Atlas ID to be used rather than a reference for another K8s resource feels like a reasonable approach.
No commitments for now till we've investigated in a little more detail.

Display a cluster tier size (e.g. M20) on the all Clusters page
I am opening this new feature request on behalf of the customer. Would it be possible to display a cluster size (e.g. M20) on the main status page alongside other cluster information that's already on the page?

We I propose integrating built-in alerts for KMIP key expiration into MongoDB Ops Manager, enhancing our security management and preventing
One crucial feature currently lacking in ops manager is the ability to alert users on impending KMIP key expirations in a similar vein to SSL certificate expiration alerts.
I propose integrating built-in alerts for KMIP key expiration into MongoDB Ops Manager, enhancing our security management and preventing inadvertent lapses in key validity.
