Hard to find menus
Either the MongoDB Atlas web interface is too complicated
or the tutorials are missing steps, some menus are impossible to find.Example
https://www.mongodb.com/docs/atlas/app-services/data-api/custom-endpoints
Create a Custom HTTPS Endpoint
1. Click HTTPS Endpoints in the left navigation menu and then click Add An Endpoint.^ this is not the first step, the menu is not even visible, it is buried away under some advanced settings button, no where is it mentioned where to reveal this totally different "BUILD" menu section on the left hand side.
There are lots of features hidden from view, almost impossible to access from the Top or…

"Atlas Onboarding"
Allow user to escape from onboarding without having to edit the url.
When the system doesn't accept the input, the user cannot escape and see their dashboard.1 vote -
Improve the sample code for Connecting with MongoDB Driver
When in Atlas you click the Connect button and get to the screen 'Connecting with MongoDB Driver', the Java sample isn't using the MongoClientSettings.builder() to set writeConcern and retryWrites. This is done in the connect string instead, even though the builder does provide those two settings.
I suggest only using the MongoClientSettings.builder() for better type safety.1 vote -

Update the MERN Stack tutorial, it's out of date.
RE: https://www.mongodb.com/languages/mern-stack-tutorial
The MERN stack tutorial is out of date and can't be completed in it's current state.
- Section on creating Atlas Cluster is out of date and needs updating.
- The React section uses the old Class way of doing things, this should be updated to use Functional Components and Hooks.
- Uses the old React Router system.
You might as well remove this tutorial in it's current state.
My solution for MERN stack tutorial using functional React components and TypeScript is available here:

Allow to connect with Atlas in a standalone (non clustered) mode.
Getting onto Mongo and learning it the first step in getting to use it for projects and in production.
I am finding that there are many roadblocks to installing and connecting to Mongo.
Getting a standalone mode would make it super intuitive to connect with it and begin using it.

INFORM that shared clusters share data limits
In the comparison between clusters, for Shared clusters M2, M5, vital information is that there are data limits and those limits are shared, not only for you but also together with any other databases of the same cluster.
This was NOT clear at all when we signed up with an M2.
