  1. More detailed update status

It would be amazingly helpful to see more detailed information on recovering nodes. Just knowing that the node is, for example, "81% of the way on initial sync" is much more informational (and lets users know that it isn't stuck) as compared to the node being in "Startup2" recovery.

  2. Display chart annotations more conspicuously

To access chart annotations, users have to first hover over the metrics display, click on the info icon next to the title of a specific metric, and then read the annotations under the explanation of that metric. I didn't know they even existed until a support person happened to mention the vertical lines and I asked what they were. It would be more user-friendly to have the annotations (really, a legend for vertical lines) displayed separately in a more conspicuous location. Maybe in an info icon next to the annotation toggle? Another option would be for the vertical lines to…

  3. Mongodb atlas logs - IP whitelist information

    Hi Team,
We understand that network whitelist information (IPs added/removed) will be available only in portal under project activity feed. As our requirement is to access this information via API.

Please let us know is there any feasibility of having these project level network whitelist information through API or in db logs in near future.

  4. Allow to create Dashboard

Please provide feature to create a dashboard for metrics like CPU, memory consumption etc for a cluster or more than one cluster in single graphs like for cpu one graph, for memory one graph like that just like monitoring tools provide for example zabbix screens and dashboards, stackdriver dashboards, dynatrace dashboards.

This is to have a glance on our entire architecture instead of checking each and every cluster every time. This will be particularly useful during load tests or business peak period where we need to check more than one cluster performance.

  5. Alerts change from time based pattern to include actual alert in subject

So far we are receiving atlas alerts in time based manner which are difficult to undersatnd/analyze just by looking at email subject.

We are expecting a model in which we want to Separate alerts for each instance instead of combining alerts on a single time frame and Changing email alert subject to include alert description. This will allows us to understand the alert by looking at email subject , combine/view all alerts in email client (for example outlook) , write some rules on them and analyze the alert timing pattern by sorting and group by alert description.

    For example,

    Present…

  6. Extend sub-hourly metrics retention to 72 hours

Right now the 1- and 5-minute metric data is lost after 48 hours (when it is combined into the hourly data). This makes it impossible to take a close look, on a weekday, at an event that occurred over the weekend.

It would be nice to be able to look at a problem on the weekend and say "I'll look at this more closely on Monday", and then have the ability to actually investigate it on Monday.

  7. Allow to resend alert to a PagerDuty service

Like with other type of alert targets (Send to), we would like to be able to resend an alert to PagerDuty.

The reason is that an alert sent to PagerDuty can be mistakenly resolved but the real issue is still there, and the alert is still firing in Atlas.

Because it is already firing, it won't fire again so from that moment on, there is no way to get a notification of that alert so we might be missing a real issue.

  8. Project Alerts: show details about "Closed Alerts"

In "Project Alerts" we can only see certain details about "Closed Alerts," e. g. for an "Index Suggestion" we can only see the timestamp and the fact, that there was an index suggestion. You can't see what the specific suggestion was. So if you look through the history of alerts, you cannot tell if for multiple alerts it was always about the same index to be created, or whether it was for different indexes.

Likewise, for "Daily amount billed ($) is above threshold" you can see that the threshold was exceeded, but you can't see what the specific billed amount…

  9. Precautionary Change/Recommendations for Shard Drops

If a user submits a configuration change to drop a shard, Atlas will sift through the cluster metrics and advise any necessary changes needed in order to complete the change without any errors/delays. For example, it will share the correct number of IOPS/cluster tier that needs to be used since the workload to drain a shard will increase; as well as other precautionary measures that should happen prior to dropping the shard (i.e. balancer needs to be turned on, etc).

  10. metrics

There might already be a way to do this, but I cannot find it. Please provide a way to combine "all primary" metrics into a single chart.

I love your metrics, but I hate that when primary moves from one server to another I get "data gaps" in my graphs. So then it becomes exceedingly difficult to look at temporal variations... requiring splicing together multiple segments from 2 or 3 different graphs.

I have attached a picture of what I am talking about. You can see that primary moved over for a few days so I get a graph with…

  11. Use 24-hour time format in Metrics date pickers

Timestamps in Metrics plots are displayed in 24-hour time format, but the date/time filter inputs require 12-hour time (using am/pm).

    screenshot: https://p-37FYgJ.b1.n0.cdn.getcloudapp.com/items/L1upe7Wv/Image%202020-06-25%20at%204.28.22%20PM.png?v=ec3b0551ea4035a207a90ab83817bba6

12-hour time is not widely used around the world, and it is cumbersome to use in the date pickers especially give that other parts of the UI use 24-hour time.

Can we update these date pickers to use 24-hour time instead?

  12. Allow bulk changes to alerts - e.g. changing slack channel

Changes alerts is really painful. For one thing, pressing the Enter key doesn't close the dialog and nor does pressing Escape.

This makes it really painful to change something simple like the slack channel used for alerts.

  13. Atlas alerts - include duration and date/time alert was closed

currently alerts (sent to SLACK but probably other formats as well) reads this:

    Project: OS1

    Organization: SE Atlas

    CLOSED
    Host is down
    OS1-g-shard-18-05.bxxxxq.gcp.mongodb.net
    Created: 2020/06/11 03:44 BST

    Type: Mongos

It would be helpful to also include:
    Closed: 2020/06/11 07:44 BST
    Duration: 1h 53m

As the slack is usually set to each users timezone it creates a confusion when one is looking at how long issue lasted.
This should be easy to implement and it would improve end user experience a lot.

Same would be nice on Atlas 'closed alerts' tab - there seems to be no way currently to get…

  14. Atlas Alert for Remaining Credits

MongoDB will email Atlas customer when the prepaid Atlas credit is estimated to be exhausted within 30 days.

However, it would be good to have an alert for this in Atlas, e.g.

Alert if the remaining prepaid amount is lower than ... <an amount>

  15. Disk throughput in monitoring

Currently we have disk IOPS in monitoring (both read and write).
One of the metrics that play a role to decide whether to have a provisioned disk or not, at least with AWS hosting, is the disk bandwidth.
For instance with a large enough disk, like 2000GB, I have max 250MB/s bandwidth with an unprovisioned (gp2) disk (the maximum), but could go to 500MB/s with a provisioned (io1) disk of that size.

  16. Add replica set name to cluster info main page

It would be nice to get quick access to the name of the replica set from the cluster overview page.

  17. Show node region on the metrics tab

It would be really useful if the Atlas Metrics tab showed the node name and geographic location similar to how the Cluster Overview tab shows the node's region. In this use case, we have nodes located all over the world, so its useful to know where a node is located when reviewing it's metrics.

  18. Add a Transaction Commits / Sec Metric Graph to Atlas

Add a graph in Atlas to display "transactions.totalCommitted" on a per second basis to the Atlas metrics UI. Customers that are using transactions are often more interested in the # of transaction commits per second than opcounters.

I have had to use mongostat on a number customer evaluations because this metric is not available.

  20. Better message for "Removed Indexes" in Activity Feed during Atlas rolling index build

During a rolling index build, it is expected to have 2 "Deployment configuration published" notifications - 1 for Added Indexes and another 1 for Removed Indexes. This is because an entry for this desired index is added to the automation config and then the automation agent builds it accordingly. Once the agent is done building it, we remove the entry for that index from the automation config. Indeed, this does not drop the index.

However, from the term of "Removed Indexes", it can cause confusion that the index is dropped. Hence, this feature request is filed for clearer message so…
