Setup the Atlas web user's team membership as part of the invitation.
Doing so, removes the extra step of assigning the team after the user has accepted the invitation.

Add storage class configuration option to Cloud Backup snapshot Export to S3
Setting the desired value for
x-amz-storage-class
header for the S3 PUT Object for snapshot export so that exported snapshots can be put directly to the desired storage class without any custom lifecycle rules and wait time on S3 side.2 votes -

Start/Stop Atlas instance from external script
Currently the ability to stop or restart an Atlas instance is not allowed from the customer's side of things, and is an action that can only be performed by MongoDB Support.
We would like to have this feature added. This use case very important for our organization as different application teams should be able to bring up or down the database as they need.
We cannot grant permissions on Atlas console to all the teams in our setup.
Instead, we may have a custom script developed using Javascript or similar scripting languages and enable users to start or stop Atlas…1 vote -

Atlas project capacity should be discoverable
Atlas project capacity should be discoverable. Based on documentation, it seems project capacity is dependent on various factors and can be arbitrarily increased via support request. We currently do not know how many clusters/nodes we have available to deploy in a given project and that is critical information to inform planning at scale.

Backup persistence after termination should be standard
It is odd that snapshots are tied to clusters and lost/destroyed when clusters are terminated. Snapshots have their own retention policies for a reason. Persistence after cluster termination should be the rule, not the exception.

Always display TTL index's seconds to expire
We have a lot of TTL indexes and sometimes we need to know the number of seconds till expiration ("expireAfterSeconds").
This information is available only if we hover over the tiny tooltip (see screenshot). This is very annoying and impossible to copy/paste.Please always show the number of seconds for TTL indexes or at least add a button to copy the value.
We would appreciate it if you could take this to your Product/Engineering to implement (should take exactly one minute as the value is already their in the HTML DOM).

Permit downloading of serverless instance snapshots.
Currently this is not supported. The consequence is that there is no way to restore just a single database or collection from a snapshot. This obviously greatly reduces the value of snapshots.

Three icons on the top right go unnoticed
The three icons on the top right are going unnoticed, and it causes troubles to users to find stuff in the UI.
I wanted to find "alerts" in the account, and it took me ~fifteen minutes to find it in the UI.
The three icons the top right are as following:
1. Invite to project
2. View the project activity feed
3. View the project alertsI've highlighted these three icons in the screenshot. Need to improve the UX.

Reference existing third party integration in alert configuration notifications
Provide a mechanism that enables referencing an existing atlas third party integration when using the alert configuration resource to create or update a third party notification.
This is useful when a third party integration is imported or accessed through a data source, meaning the api token is not available. An example of this would be Slack integration as it has to be created through the Atlas UI using OAuth2, so the api token cannot be accessed in the terraform configuration.More details in: https://github.com/mongodb/terraform-provider-mongodbatlas/issues/1074

VPC flow log to identify the rejected source IP by IP access list
Customers can identify the source IP addresses dropped by Atlas IP access list if cloud provider flow log like VPC flow log is enabled and stored in the storage like S3.

Support for VPC Lattice
Additionally to the existing VPC PrivateLink Endpoint method to have connectivity it would be great if I could integrate a MongoDB Atlas project via a VPC Lattice service and share that one with customer accounts on AWS. - Red Bull Media House

View cluster/storage scalable (yes/no) in "All cluster" dashboard
Right now in the "all cluster" view, one cannot see, if the clusters are enabled for auto scaling. my idea is to add this also to avoid last minute performance alerts for non scaling enabled clusters

Read-only access to project snapshots
Create a role that allows less-privileged users to download project snapshots.
Project Owner rights are currently required in order to simply download a project snapshot. Our team needs to pull snapshots in a variety of contexts, for development and offline analysis -- especially from projects associated with our non-production environments -- and we have to harass our administrators each and every time. It's frustrating to everyone involved.

AWS gp3 Decouple IOPs from Disk Size
With AWS EBS gp3 volumes, IOPs and throughput can be provisioned separately from EBS storage size. While Atlas now uses gp3 volumes and provides a base throughput of 3,000 IOPs, higher throughputs are still directly tied to disk size.
We run IO-intensive workloads that require high throughput, and we have to severely over-size disks to get the needed throughput. We don't require the extra-low latency of provisioned IOPs (which is much more expensive than over-provisioning storage).
According to the linked AWS documentation below, if the M60 instance size is running on an ec2 m5.4xlarge instance type, it can support a…

I would like to compact to oplog myself instead of opening cases to resize it
To compact my oplog and reclaim 300GB of disk space right after I finisihed migrating a database to Atlas using mongomirror, I had to open a support case. With that we were able to reduce our cluster tier thanks to lowering the disk tier (Azure deployment)
It would be nice to do it myself to be faster without opening a case with severity 4 that will take me at least 2 days to accomplish that. Also, I assume that people without a subscription can't do it since you have to open a case which is exclusive only if you have…

add cluster manager email
Hi,
It would be nice to be able to assign a cluster manager email / contact per cluster and not per project. We have different team members managing different clusters within each of our projects and it would be great if we could alert them specifically on specific events in a cluster (like new index suggestions, disk increase, etc.)2 votes
