  1. Allow custom date range to be submitted in Query Profiler

Currently the Query Profiler can plot queries that were logged up to 24 hours in the past.

It would be helpful to allow for visualization of a custom date range older than 24 hours ago, rather than only queries logged within the past 24 hours. This could help with RCAs for events that occurred more than 1 day ago, and also help teams who collaborate to investigate queries over a time period longer than 1 day.

  2. Expose the killOp() action when creating custom roles in Atlas UI

It would be nice to have the killOp() action exposed when creating a custom role in Atlas.

I also think it would make sense to grant this action to the atlasAdmin role, but at a minimum I feel that Project Owners should be able to create a custom role that is allowed to kill ops that were initiated by other database users.

  3. Allow Pending Users to be Added to a Team

When trying to implement Atlas infrastructure for Organization/Project users, the Teams functionality is useless unless we can add pending users to a Team. Right now, if a new user doesn't login for two weeks, we can't assign them to a Team until two weeks after the implementation was supposed to be configured.

  4. Programatically disable/enable Auto indexing Serverless

We have Serverless instances. We want to be able to programmatically (using atlas api and terraform resource) disable/enable
mongo atlas to auto create suggested indexes for given mongo Serverless instance. Currently, it is enabled by default and can be disabled only by toggle in Mongo UI.

With programmatically way we can easily disable/enable auto indexing on all our Serverless instances.

This is important to us because we want to use only indexes that we create.

  5. Adding indexes(Not search index) using terraform

I would like to create mongodb atlas index using terraform. But as of now we can able to create search index in mongodb atlas using terraform. here the expectation is to create normal index using terraform.

  6. Scaling cluster connections independent of cluster size/tier

Currently whenever you want to increase Atlas cluster connections, you have to scale up Cluster Tiers. When an application doesn't require additional disk storage but only additional connections the additional cost is difficult to justify.

  7. Email subject more specific for Alerts

The email Alerts that MongoDB provide are very useful, especially the Oplog and CPU Usage. However, the subject of the emails are not clear and does not specify the Alert type. It is just a generic "Alert". It would be great if MongoDB can add "Alert Oplog" or "Alert CPU Usage" to the email subjects to make them much more clear and helpful. Thanks!

  8. disk iops

The Disk IOPS graph shows 2 colored lines. (read/write). It would be great to add a third line which is the SUM of the 2 lines. Or... a toggle switch so we can see the sum line instead of the 2 components. Thanks!

  9. Can you add support for storing the archive data in GCP cloud storage?

The Cold Storage (Archiving) is available only in AWS S3 as of now. Can you please make it available in GCP cloud storage to move all the MongoDB archives?

  10. Support for AWS China (Beijing/Ningxia) regions

Please make Atlas available in AWS's Beijing/Ningxia regions. This is important to due to China's internet restrictions to achieve the best possible performance/latency for our Mainland China customers.

  11. Enable Private Link for Azure Data Factory

Private Link for Azure Data Factory is not currently supported. This appears to be the most secure way for ADF to connect to Atlas / MongoDB, and support for this feature would be ideal for our use-case.

  12. API Key Expiration date

We have a security reqirement that secrets must expire after 2 years.

Therefore it would be awesome if MongoDB Atlas API Keys would support an expiration date.

Somethig similar exists for the IP Whitelisting. Here we have the option to remove IP Whitelist entries after er certain time period. But for API Keys it would be better to have an expiration date and keep the API Key in the list even if its expired.

In addition it would be good to have a daily notification once the expiration date is ahead less than 30 day.

  13. Authentification on Azure (IAM)

    Hello,

We absolutely need a more modern authentication method than using LDAPS to authenticate users against the MongoDB databases that we deploy with Atlas. When will we see a modern authentication service at this level? Ideally, we want cloud functionality equivalent to AWS IAM but on Azure.

  14. mongomirror with db rename

We have a need to rename our databases as we sync them over to Atlas. However, mongomirror doesn't support that. So that leaves us with mongodump and mongorestore but our databases are large enough that we can't take the outage window necessary to go down that path. When will mongomirror support renaming databases during the import process?

  15. Access Total Memory from Mongo clusters

Could the MongoDB metrics available in Datadog get expanded to include total memory? For setting up thresholds to track the resident memory of each client, it would be ideal to standardize these thresholds across clients. To do so would require displaying resident memory as a percentage, which would the total memory to calculate for each client. Please let me know if total memory can be a metric available in the Datadog integration or perhaps how I can find it if it already exist or can be created.

  16. Automatic information when shared cluster is throttled

When a shared cluster has reached it's limit and the cluster is throttled, an email should be sent to each db-owner affected. This would save your customers AND your support a lot of time troubleshooting.

Right now there is no way for a db-owner to see this information, let alone get that information, except for asking support for help.

  17. [Atlas] Enforce password policy for DB access

Currently is not possible to enforce any kind of password policy via Atlas UI.
Would be nice to let user define an expiration time and password policy that user should meet.

  18. Show driver/application/user metadata in Query Profiler query summaries

It would be helpful if the Query Profiler showed the driver and user metadata associated with the connection over which a particular query was run.

After clicking on a particular plotted operation in the Query Profiler, the sidebar pops up and shows execution statistics and structure of the plotted op, but doesn't show anything about the driver/application/user that issued the command.

This query summary would be more actionable if the driver, driver version, application name, and user were also displayed in the query sidebar (these details may be recorded in a separate log entry from the command itself).

    This information…

  19. Ability to choose a Primary shard for newly created database

In a multi tenant architecture, the isolation of a tenant on a specific shard (when database sharding is involved) is expected. At this time, the ability to choose a Primary shard for newly created database would come in handy

  20. Allow maintenance window definition per cluster

Currently maintenance windows are defined per project. With multiple clusters in a project, maintenance will be performed at the very same time.

We would like to space out maintenance windows per cluster in the same project, to prevent replica set election on multiple clusters taking place simultaneously.
