  1. Ops Manager Base URL should support custom paths/sub-directories

It may be desired to place Ops Manager behind a proxy or load balancer based on a URL path (aka sub-directory or prefix). For example, an nginx location may want to proxy pass connections to Ops Manager on "location /opsmanager"
Currently, the Ops Manager Base URL appears to only accept and use the scheme, hostname/domain, and port. Additional path details are ignored by redirects sourcing from javascript functions and html links/resources.

Current workarounds require a unique/dedicated server name for proxying or load balancing to Ops Manager web service(s).

This feature request is for supporting custom URL paths when using Ops…

  2. Ability to configure all destinations for SNMPv2c Alert Traps in a single place

What is the problem that needs to be solved? Ops Manager needs to have ability to configure all destinations for SNMPv2c Alert Traps in a single place (so that single place needs to be updated instead of dozens of individual Ops Manager Alerts).

Why is it a problem? (the pain) In case if there's a change in SNMPv2c Alert Trap destination(s), it becomes effort to change the respective hosts for each of the alert. This process requires some time (unless customer script it via Ops Manager's API) if amount of configured Ops Manager Alerts is high, and the process itself…

  3. Improve backup process with automatic reparation of broken job

Enhance the Ops Manager feature for the detecting of broken processes, validating its sanity, so that Ops Manager could "un-break" processes and start regular backups without any manual intervention.

  4. FCV 4.2 backup snapshot progress description UI issue

In the "Continuous Backup" when a FCV 4.2 backup snapshot is in progress the progress label text can be too long to be displayed:

    Sync:
Transferring - Snapshot received XXXMB of YYYMB from zzz/www files over N hrs (xxx kB/s). Overall progress - XX %

The CSS currently has overflow: hidden so the text that doesn't fit the table cell in the page is hidden.

The only way to see the complete status is enlarging the browser window or zoom out the page.

Please improve the page by improving the CSS style of this page, for example by enabling text…

  5. Include Replica Set Horizons in Connect to your Deployment Modal

Clicking on the "Connect to this replica set" should open a modal that includes the Replica Set horizon host and port (if configured) in addition to the host's FQDN. This will help users determine their connection settings without requesting details from the kubernetes cluster administrators that deployed the database.

  6. Make it possible to prevent incessant Automation log messages about unexpected field in process memory metrics map

My automation manager posts an info message about unexpected fields in process memory metrics map every minute. It's polluting my logs. I would like a way to fix the underlying problem or, if it cannot be fixed, then don't tell me about it in the logs.

    Here are some examples:
mongodb-data-prod-vm2.cloud.ca 2020-08-05 - 01:10:47 PM info runtimestatsPrinter Unexpected field in process memory metrics map: thp_enabled. Skipping

mongodb-data-prod-vm2.cloud.ca 2020-08-05 - 01:10:47 PM info runtimestatsPrinter Unexpected field in process memory metrics map: speculationstorebypass. Skipping

  7. Filter/Sort Process List View

In previous versions of Ops Manager, you could filter the process list page. It would be nice to bring that back, so we could quickly identify processes which do not have recent pings, etc.

  8. Start MongoDB Agent service (`mongodb-mms-automation-agent.service`) automatically after OS restart, make it default behavior

What is the problem that needs to be solved? MongoDB Agent service (mongodb-mms-automation-agent.service) does not start (by default (disabled; vendor preset: disabled)) automatically after OS reboot.

Why is it a problem? (the pain) OS restarts can be frequent, and current default behavior (disabled; vendor preset: disabled) of MongoDB Agent not to start after OS restart causing additional downtime for customers.

  10. Add support to convert a replica set to a sharded cluster in Kubernetes

Currently it is not possible to use Ops Manager UI or Kubernetes Operator to convert Replica Set to Sharded cluster. Error : changed not allowed.

Planned - we have a requirement to have this completed in time for MongoDB 9.0. But no timeline (yet) for delivering this within that timeframe.

  11. Change the "Replica set has a late snapshot" Alert from Global to Project level

Currently the "Replica set has a late snapshot" Alert is a Global Alert. It would be useful to have this changed to a Project level Alert so that the Alert can be tuned for each specific deployment to provide better customization of the Alert.

  12. Instantly Release Storage of collection after Remove the data from the collection

It should provide an attribute when removing a document, inquiring whether you want to release storage immediately or later, instead of executing the compact command. This feature is helpful when you want to retain only the latest 6 months of data and remove older records. For example, I have IoT devices that fetch vehicle GPS locations, and each device has its own separate collection in MongoDB.

  13. allow mongocli read configs from stdin rather than from file

To deploy new cluster we need prepare config file and put there all sensitive data, like automation user password, ssl cert passwords etc.
Then we have to specify -f flag to point to this config during mongocli call.

Currently this file has to persist somewhere on the disk during call to CLI which makes it insecure (and file has to be carefully removed after cli call finished, proper access to the file has to be set etc)

It would be safer to send this config to stdin of mongocli - as a pipe from another command which can generate the…

  14. Make all metrics used in the Atlas dashboard available for the prometheus integration

Make all metrics used in the Atlas dashboard available for the prometheus integration (https://www.mongodb.com/docs/cloud-manager/tutorial/prometheus-integration/#mongodb-metric-labels).
Also describe how the current Atlas dashboard metrics are build from those.
I'm looking especially for the metrics:
    - Max Disk IOPS
    - Queues

  16. Documentation: API equivalents for each action on OpsManager

In the documentation, for each action on OpsManager it should be explained how to achieve the same result using the OpsManager API (or an equivalent mongocli command, if it exists).
For example, in the pages describing how to configure Backup stores in the OpsManager UI, it should also be explained which APIs to use (admin/backup).

  17. Use different method for Slack notifications

At the moment in integration manager for Slack there is only option to use obsolete webhook method which allows sending notification to single Slack channel configured for this webhook. There is (not that) new API method https://api.slack.com/methods/chat.postMessage which allows sending notification to multiple channels. This is extremely useful if you for example want to differentiate alerts based on its kind or severity. There is also option to use Webhook method in MongoDB but it doesn't support Slack. So please either add support for new API method or make Webhook method supporting Slack so at least two Slack channels will be…

  18. Ops Manager Load Balancer

In the same way we can connect to a replica set via a connection string containing the 3 hostnames of the members (in a 3 member replica set) which indicates some load balancing built in, it would be good to allow automation agent's mmsBaseUrl parameter to accept 3 Ops Manager web app hostnames if Ops Manager was running in 3 nodes on top of a 3 member replica set OM Application DB. With this, if one of the 3 Ops Manager web apps fails, the agent's connection to OM will be uninterrupted. Currently we will have to configure our own…

  20. Add recommended ulimit settings to the systemctl service definition

The Ops Manager documentation recommends higher than default ulimit settings, so why not include these in the systemctl service definition?
