    Apply Project Maintenance Windows to Global Alerts

    Make the existing Project-level maintenance windows also silence Global alerts associated with the Project.

    We have many projects that share the Global Alerts and do not want to turn off all global alerts as we still need that alerting for the projects that are not being worked on.

    In combination with the existing API for Project Maintenance Windows, this really allows full control.

  2. Allow configuring Ops Manager to ignore proxy for internal requests

    A very common Enterprise HTTP Proxy configuration is to deny requests from local networks (10.0.0.0/8, 172.16.0.0/12, 192.168.0.0/16).

    In hybrid mode, the Backup Mode attempts to download the binaries from itself locally through the proxy. This brings to errors as the proxy is blocking the local traffic.

  3. Ops Mgr "Insufficient oplog size" is confusing and prevents backups

    When using Ops Manager UI (I've not checked the API) to declare a MongoDB cluster to be backed up, Ops Manager tries to be a good citizen and check to see if the clusters oplogs are large enough, based on their recent usage to hold at least 3 hours worth of data based on the last 24 hours of usage patterns. if the check fails, the user is prevented from enabling backup and is shown the warning:

    "Insufficient oplog size: The oplog window must be at least 3 hours over the last 24 hours for all members of replica set…

  5. Add hostname/port attributes into all Cluster/Replica Set alert types

    What is the problem that needs to be solved? Add hostname/port attributes into all Cluster/Replica Set alert types generated via SNMP Alert Traps, Ops Manager's Public API calls (Project/Global Alerts) and Alert Webhooks (Project/Global Alerts).

    Why is it a problem? (the pain) Hostname/port attributes are currently missed in Cluster/Replica Set alert types and we only provide a name of the Cluster/Replica Set for which the alert was generated.   6. Possibility to send an alert over all/selected alert channels, if all/selected alerts can't be delivered

    What is the problem that needs to be solved? Send an alert over all/selected alert channels, if all/selected alerts can't be delivered by Ops Manager's Application Server.

    Why is it a problem? (the pain) We can miss an alert (or multiple alerts) from Ops Manager's Application Server if configured alert channel become unavailable since all Ops Manager Alerts are working in fire-and-forget style without any checks/mechanisms to see if the alert was delivered (some alert types can't have that guarantee at all (e.g. SNMP Alert Traps)).

    At present if a collection has a default collation configured, sharding such a namespace via Ops Manager results in a failure with the following symptom:

  9. Add Ops Manager's Org ID/Name into all SNMP Alert Traps

    What is the problem that needs to be solved? Ops Manager's Org ID/Name is not included into any of SNMP Alert Traps sent from Ops Manager's Application Server.

    Why is it a problem? (the pain) Operator who watch Monitoring System (the one that receive SNMP Alert Traps from Ops Manager) needs to see Ops Manager's Organization ID/Name in order to quickly understand to where that Ops Manager's Alert is related to. Monitoring System (the one that receive SNMP Alert Traps from Ops Manager) needs to do additional work for each SNMP Alert Trap received (via GET /groups/{PROJECT-ID}/GET /orgs/{ORG-ID}

    What is the problem that needs to be solved? Allow to configure separate SNMP v2C community for SNMP v2C Heartbeat Traps and SNMP v2C Alert Traps.

    Why is it a problem? (the pain) As of now (2020-03-24) there's no way to configure separate SNMP v2C community for SNMP v2C Heartbeat Traps and SNMP v2C Alert Traps (snmp.community controls both, Heartbeat and Alert Traps sent from Ops Manager's Application Server), some SNMP Monitoring Teams require different SNMP v2C communities for different set of SNMP v2C Traps (to separate Heartbeat Traps and Alert Traps).

  11. Snapshots taken by Ops Manager Backups should include config file

    When restoring a snapshot through Ops Manager, automation will create the config file for you. But if you're restoring a snapshot manually, there's no config file! Surely we can include a sample mongod.conf withe sufficient information filled out to help a user get up and running again.

  13. Group Host Mapping IPs to be added by default to Programmatic API Keys IP Whitelisting

    As part of the Programmatic API Keys introduced in MongoDB Ops Manager 4.2, it would be good to have the IPs listed in the Host Mappings of a Project Deployment to be added as default whitelisted IPs when setting up a Programmatic API Key for same Project.

  14. Single Project Programmatic API Keys should not require Org User Admin role for IP Whitelists update

    When setting a Programmatic API Key in the MongoDB Ops Manager for a given Project, it seems Project Owners are unable after setting the Key to update the IP Whitelist as they require Organization User Admin role to perform such action (screenshot attached).

    I guess this makes sense if the same Programmatic API Key is shared between multiple Projects inside the same Organization, but not really if this is applied only to one single Project (i.e. Project Owners should be able to amend the IP Whitelisting of their own API Keys).

    I wonder if this could be enhanced in further…

  15. SNMP traps for `AUTOMATION_AGENT_DOWN`, `MONITORING_AGENT_DOWN`, `BACKUP_AGENT_DOWN` alert types does not contain hostname information

    What is the problem that needs to be solved? SNMP traps for AUTOMATION_AGENT_DOWN, MONITORING_AGENT_DOWN, BACKUP_AGENT_DOWN alert types does not contain hostname information in .1.3.6.1.4.1.41138.1.1.1.4 (.iso.org.dod.internet.private.enterprises.mms.server.serverMIBObjects.mmsAlertObject.mmsAlertHostAndPort) OID.

    Why is it a problem? (the pain) User is blocked to act quickly on the alert and identify the host where Ops Manager's Automation/Monitoring/Backup Agent is in DOWN state. Missing <HOSTNAME>:<PORT> information at .1.3.6.1.4.1.41138.1.1.1.4 SNMP OID does not allow user to map AUTOMATION_AGENT_DOWN, MONITORING_AGENT_DOWN, BACKUP_AGENT_DOWN alert types into a particular hostname.

  17. Federate different Ops Manager instances

    When multiple Ops Managers are running across multiple environments it is difficult see the overall picture.
    A a federated dashboard that can provide a view into different environments, see overall list of clusters and some basic information about them.
