  1. Hiding the sidebar for more working area

    I suggest that it is possible to hide the sidebar, when working with a limited resolution laptop, mongodb compass takes 70% of the screen, which only leaves 30% to refer to documentations.

  2. Option to turn off the multiple connections in a single window feature

    With the recent update to multiple connections in a single window, I have found that it can be confusing when you have the same database open for test and prod. Please add an option to turn off the feature allowing multiple connections in a single window for those of us who do not want the new feature.

  3. Middle clicking collection tab along top should close that tab, rather than requiring pressing the x-mark

    Very much like tabs work in browsers

  4. save last workspace

    It would be great if mongo compass holds the last state including query, results set, query histories.
    With help of this we can reload last state after restart our system.

  6. Desktop icon shouldn't reappear after every update

    The desktop shortcut re-appears in on desktop after every update.Even though I remove it every time. (on Windows)

  7. Missing charts features

    The charts inside mongodb are quiet nice but lacks some basic features to be able to setup a environment to create, test and deploy charts from tests to production. Also it is not possible to proper support localization.

    It is not possible to develop charts to allow proper development, testing and deploy.
    Those features are a must to really work in a proper way:

    Import/Export:

    Severity: HIGH

    • The current export does not include the charts view. It should contain the charts view (including its aggregation pipeline)
    • Import should then allow create/override the charts view

    Localization:

    Severity: HIGH

    • Allow define locales…

  8. CTRL+F in results

    Implement a CTRF+F function to allow "text search" in results page (like in a Browser)

    example : In a collection, I use "Filter" field to search document and compass returns 15 documents. I hit CTRL+F and I can search a field name or a value and navigate between.

  11. Enable copy document button if user has project data access read only in Compass

    Users who have only Project Data Access Read Only don't get access to the "Copy Document" button which allows them to paste this information in another tool. If they need to copy a document, then administrator has to grant them "Project Data Access Read Write" which creates an unnecessary security risk or potential for accidental updates. The "Copy Document" button should be allowed for "Project Data Access Read Only".

  12. Set Max Time with Global Preferences

    One of our customer want to set Max Time on Compass global preferences.

    It would be a good idea to set the default Max Time in the global preferences so that you can use the same Max Time for all tasks.

  13. Would be nice if this can be dockerized

    I am trying to simply dockerize this by creating a Dockerfile within this directory but am not able to get the container to start the mongo compass.
    Is this feasible? Or am I missing something.

  16. Native Windows arm64 support

    Windows on arm64 is getting quite a lot of traction lately, with multiple vendors launching new Snapdragon-powered laptops. Would be cool to see MongoDB Compass runnning on these processors natively.

  17. Create setting to allow displaying data in a "compact/dense" manner

    Often when looking at data we want to see the most amount of data on a page, currently the display of results has a LOT of padding.
    Give an option to toggle the UI to a compact view.

  18. Comment Mode off by default

    I'd like to turn off comment mode in the aggregations view by default. Currently this setting does not persist and comment mode is always enabled by default when you create a new aggregation pipeline.
