Rename tabs
I would like the ability to open multiple tabs and rename them. Currently, the tabs are rendered as
Documents
<tabel_name.collection_name>Ideally, I could change the tab heading so that it's easier to navigate between the tabs

Better Color indicator for different connections
Currently, we use the colour indicator (chosen during mark favourite) on the title (connection name in the sidebar). That is helpful while working with multiple windows having different DB connections like Stage , Prod or Dev.
But I still feel that is a very minimal implementation of a color indicator. It will be better if the connection colour indicator is reflected on the border outline of the whole window & sidebar to better distinguish between different DB connection windows.
I am always afraid if I am mistakenly doing some change on prod DB instead of Stage DB.
If the colour…

Always show CollectionName in Tab. (Compass)
The whole tab space is eaten up by the Database Name, so I can't see wich tab shows which collection. Every Tab only says "somedbname..."
There is enough y-space in the tab to show the collection name in a seperate line, so one could navigate quickly.3 votes -
Rename Compass Tabs
Add the ability to rename the tabs.
Compass automatically names the tabs based on the functionality that is currently used like aggregation, documents, etc...
When working with multiple tabs it would be nice to be able to name them so that you can easily identify the one you want.1 vote -

Make it easier to switch between Performance Tab view and Collection Tabs view
Once you click on "Databases" you loose the Collection Tab view and the only way to get back to it is to click on a collection again, but unless you click on the same collection it will overwrite the last collection you were looking at.
Maybe add a new menu tab that returns you to the Collections view, with your saved collection tabs.1 vote -

Make Compass update notification non-blocking
New versions are constantly available. Blocking workflow with constant prompts is frustrating. No other software does this. Put in taskbar or somewhere passive!!

add option for skipping a version update
On MacOS (ARM), add an option for "skip this version update".
Not sure, if this issue persists in other builds as well.
Right now, everytime compass is launched it presents an annoying popup asking for update, and the only options are install, or ask me later. If you select ask me later, it shows the popup again on next start. What is needed is an option for "Don't ask me again for this version". This is kind of a standard feature in most products.
Thanks.

Use tab to validate auto-completion
Regression in version 1.36.2: it's no longer possible to validate auto-completion using "tab" key. Only "Enter" now works

Have my last query persist in the search box
I realize you have a search history but even simpler and faster would be if the previous search query just persisted in the search box. Many times I am doing the same search over and over again but with a different objectID. If I switch from one collection to another, the previous search is cleared. I'd just like the previous search string to stay in the search box, even if I have to check another collection, then when I get back to the previous collection, the previous search can still be populated, I paste the new ID in the previous…

Please bring back the previous dark theme (before 1.38.0)
I updated Compass to 1.38.0 (stable) on Windows. The new dark theme is too high contrast for me and I would like to switch back to the previous dark theme. Unfortunately the themes available in this version are "Light Theme" and "Dark Theme (preview)". At this point I would rather use the Light Theme than use this modern dark theme. Please bring back the previous dark theme in addition to the modern dark theme, or give us a way to customize the theme. Thank you.

How about making your installer do something when you prompt to install an update
I get prompted every day by Compass telling me there is an update to install. When you agree to install the update, nothing happens! I cannot say that I have EVER seen the installer work outside of doing a winget installation or going to your website and downloading the installer. If you are going to waste our time every time we open Compass, then stop asking us to do an upgrade! VERY ANNOYING!!!!!

Linux ARM 64 builds (Apple M1)
The linux support of the apple M1 and following chips is getting better in a fast pace. Would be great if mongodb compass could be used on such a device / operating system combo.

Connection dashboard should be always available
Once connected to one of my favourite connections in the Mac app I would like the ability to disconnect, or close, or minimise, which would then take me back to the Connections dashboard i.e. the screen initially presented when opening the Compass app.
Right now, when I've connected, the only way to get back to the connections dashboard is to close the connected window and open the Compass app again. So I can't have multiple connections either.

my idea is that you add a menu where user can ask any problem he/she is having while using MongoDB compass and get solution quickly
