MongoDB Orphaned Docs Utility
When we upgrade MongoDB there is the possibility that orphaned collections that need to be deleted can prevent the upgrade from completing.
It would make sense for Atlas to include a proactive utility that searched a customers sharded cluster for orphaned docs and gave them the option to clean up the orphaned docs ahead of a major version upgrade.

IO throttling
Atlas should be able to throttle IO in a way that does not allow excessive IO to degrade a node or take a node offline. Current functionality has no defense against a high IO data job other than to allow a node to fail.

Domain Validation should use subdomain rather than domain root
When entering the txt value for validation atlas should use its own subdomain for the verification rather than requiring the domain root which is often populated with spf keys.
Other examples of this implementation are

Display the MongoDB Network Peering Container ID in the console
Instead of forcing use of the API, why not display the MongoDB Network Peering Container ID for the peering connection in use?

Redirection of ATLAS activity feed to a MongoDB cluster that we own.
Hello team,
Would it be possible to have a feature to redirect activity logs from ATLAS to a MongoDB cluster.
The idea is to be able to easily retrieve these logs with Kafka Connect and also to be able to easily query in these logs.
One could configure the redirection of activities at the organization and projects level by providing the Atlas cluster to use and the access accounts.
Example:
Main organization
- Project: "Activity Feed"
- - Cluster: "Activity Feed Cluster"
- - DB: "Atlas Activities by organization"
- - - Collection: "Activities by project"1 vote -
Allow customers on Atlas to use Redseal to collect VNET/NSG configuration information
We use a tool named Redseal (https://www.redseal.net/) to collect and report on network devices and boundaries. Redseal supports an Azure "plug-in" that calls the Azure portal and retrieves security-relevant VNET and NSG information. The plug-in's configuration requirements are attached (see page 2), along with our proposed use of them (page 3).
We already use Redseal to gather information for vnets spread across several subscriptions in our Azure tenant, including one managed in our address space by a third party. We'd like to extend this ability into our area of the Atlas tenant.
The value to us is that…

Setup activity feed retention
It could be very interresting to be able to setup the retention of the events by organisation, projets and clusters. Actually I understand that this value is 30 days. So it to short for us, so we need to download the activities logs and it difficult to seach in files after that.

Show Cursor Not Found Errors (telemetry)
We have a lot of cursor not found errors and currently there isn't an easy way to locate them at the Atlas integrated monitoring.
It would be nice to have this feature.1 vote -
Allow to connect with Atlas in a standalone (non clustered) mode.
Getting onto Mongo and learning it the first step in getting to use it for projects and in production.
I am finding that there are many roadblocks to installing and connecting to Mongo.
Getting a standalone mode would make it super intuitive to connect with it and begin using it.

Ability to customize the name of the invite sender in emails when inviting users via API
When inviting new Atlas Users to organizations via the API, the invite email says that the invite was sent by the API public key that performed the API call. This makes the invitation emails read like this:
"You have been invited by tfqzvwrs to join the Example - Atlas organization on MongoDB Atlas."
The ability to customize this (e.g. using an additional field in the request body) would be ideal since the random string being shown as the sender of the invite could make the email look suspect.

Show shard node name in alerts
When receiving tens of emails regarding a dangerous condition on a node it would be helpful to know which node instead of having to click in the email to get to the portal to know if the issue affects our primary node or a secondary node.
Thanks

Provide an option to block access for certain username and source IP
We would like to provide users an access to database from our VPN to browse the data with some database tools - this access should be read only. As for now if somebody connected via VPN and uses production credentials he will be able to write to the database. To be able to configure it I think Atlas should provide a IP whitelist/blacklist during the user creation becaouse global Access Lists are not enough.

CronJob Live migration to second cluster in second project
It would be great to have a feature that schedule live migration from a replica set of a PROD cluster to a DEV cluster directly in ATLAS.
The plus of this solution are :
- I dont need a dedicated server to do this job on my side (deploy it, configure it, script it, open network/port, etc ..)
- I will not have to dump the whole databases from the cloud then uploading it afterwards (can be long)
- Gain from outbound price in the cloud (more for you this one)1 vote -
Billing Estimator
The ability to estimate monthly price not just at the cluster, but also by editable storage, data transfer, cloud backup with sliders to change the values.
Estimated forecast based upon last 3 months of usage/growth would be great too.

Merge All Of the MongoDB services Into 1
I have multiple feedbacks/ideas:
1) There is MongoDB Atlas, Realm, & Stitch. Why don't you merge all of it into one - MongoDB Atlas.
2) Instead of creating Organizations -> Project -> Clusters, you can just create Organizations -> Clusters without the Project.
There are a lot of platforms, which is very confusing for all of the developers to use. Instead, there can be only one platform in which, they can perform everything with simple integration of the programming languages.
You could simplify your docs as well and like I said, have only one type of integration with all of…

Dynamically switch primary between multi-region clusters based on client request locality
Consider an application that uses a multi-region implementation in an active/passive configuration - we'll call the regions "A" and "B" and assume they're located on opposite ends of the continental US. This application also leverages a multi-region Atlas cluster with single nodes in region A and B. Both the application and Primary node of the Atlas cluster are operating out of region A.
If something were to cause the application to fail-over from region A to B but that trigger did not include a complete regional outage, the Atlas cluster's primary would still be operating in region A. This is…1 vote -
Stream profiler data to external services
Currently there doesn't seem to be a way to set up custom alerts and monitoring on specific metrics such as when the size of documents returned form a query exceeds a certain limit, even though that information is available through the Profiler when looking at query samples.
It would be very useful to be able to either configure these metrics to be sent to an external service like Loggly for better monitoring and alerts or allowing to create customized alerts/webhooks within Atlas that would be triggered based on a custom-specified condition.

Please allow for showing most recently added to collection first.
Right now collections are only shown first added first. I think it would be useful to be able to look at the last added first.

Lower Roles Should be able to access RealTime Performance Panel
As an Ops person, access to the Realtime Dashboard Role is important, but it seems like in order to see it, you actually need access to the data itself. Is there a role that can give us that realtime monitoring without requiring access to the data explorer? I can access Profiler and Performance Advisor without those restrictions so it isn't clear as to why I can't also access the RealTime Performance Panel. Both of those show as much or possibly more information with regards to collections, documents, indices, etc than what appears on the RealTime Performance Panel.

INFORM that shared clusters share data limits
In the comparison between clusters, for Shared clusters M2, M5, vital information is that there are data limits and those limits are shared, not only for you but also together with any other databases of the same cluster.
This was NOT clear at all when we signed up with an M2.
