  2. CPU Steal % on Azure

The CPU Steal % metric and alert seems to be currently implemented only for AWS. Please implement it also on Azure, as there is no easy way currently to get alerted if the underlying burstable VM (e.g. for M20) runs out of credits ...

  4. Expose unplanned cloud provider hardware issues in Activity Feed or logs

It would be good to post-facto expose some indication (in the Activity Feed, or a logfile or alert) that an unplanned VM migration occurred at the cloud provider level. This would allow customers to identify and distinguish cloud provider hardware issues from cluster issues arising from other causes.

  5. Tag-aware permissions to control access to analytics nodes

MongoDB has the great future of Workload Isolation based on node tags: we can add nodes tagged for analytics or reporting and then configure the same tag for this type of connections so that they do not interfere with the main operational workload.

But it is the responsibility of the BI/Data Scientist/Analyst to properly configure the connection: it cannot be enforced in a centralised way. It would be great if MongoDB permissions could be "tag aware", and allow access for a particular user only to some nodes of the cluster.

  6. Monitoring for WiredTiger data handles

Add process measurements for monitoring WiredTiger data handles.

    From Atlas documentation https://docs.atlas.mongodb.com/reference/atlas-limits/#collection-and-index-limits :

While there is no hard limit on the number of collections in a single cluster, the performance of a cluster might degrade if it serves a large number of collections and indexes. Larger collections have a greater impact on performance.

but now there is no way to get this information except db.serverStatus()

  7. Atlas Shard Management

Currently the Atlas UI only presents options for how many shards a cluster can have.

Putting in a suggestion to perhaps allow similar functionality / features to Cloud Manager's shard management as shown : https://docs.cloudmanager.mongodb.com/tutorial/manage-data-sharding/#manage-sharded-collections

  8. Accept-Range for backup download

The backup archives can be very large, and if my download is interrupted, without Accept-Range, it is not resumable. A length header is also missing, so the downloader doesn't know the size of the archive.

  9. Add Cluster name to process list api

Currently the processes API (https://docs.atlas.mongodb.com/reference/api/processes-get-all/) returns only the ReplicaSet name of the process not the cluster name, while the cluster API (https://docs.atlas.mongodb.com/reference/api/clusters-get-all/) returns the replicaset name only in the MongoDB URI.

If you have multiple clusters in the same Atlas project and you list the processes is difficult to make an association between MongoDB processes and the Cluster (Atlas UI name)

Would be nice to have also the cluster name in the processes api

  11. Project Monitoring Admin -- Access

    Hi Team,

We need to give access to a particular team so they can create, edit, clone, disable, and delete the alarm for the entire organization in Alert setting only.

We should not give them access other than the Alert setting. Is there any way to give access for Alert setting only, kindly provide your suggestions at the earliest.

Please provide us steps if there's any way to create custom access for alert settings alone.

  12. Allow customers to download Atlas BI Connector process logs (similar to MongoDB Server logs)

What is the problem that needs to be solved? Customers are willing to troubleshoot / analyze Atlas BI Connector logs by themselves (they would like to investigate schema sampling timings, SQL/MongoDB query optimizations, connectivity issues, etc.).

Why is it a problem? (the pain) Currently available Download Logs option on Atlas Clusters does not include Atlas BI Connector process logs.

  14. Live Migrate through VPC peering connections

Many teams put their databases in subnets without internet access or with just a NAT gateway. It would be great if the Live Migrate could be use through already configured VPC peering connections.

  15. Add horizontal scroll bar to metrics tab

I can't see metrics for all of my nodes while in the metrics tabs unless I make the window very large. It would be much easier to analyze the health of my cluster if I could review metrics for all the nodes by scrolling horizontally, rather than having to switch between a grouping of nodes.

  16. Use 24-hour time format in Metrics date pickers

Timestamps in Metrics plots are displayed in 24-hour time format, but the date/time filter inputs require 12-hour time (using am/pm).

    screenshot: https://p-37FYgJ.b1.n0.cdn.getcloudapp.com/items/L1upe7Wv/Image%202020-06-25%20at%204.28.22%20PM.png?v=ec3b0551ea4035a207a90ab83817bba6

12-hour time is not widely used around the world, and it is cumbersome to use in the date pickers especially give that other parts of the UI use 24-hour time.

Can we update these date pickers to use 24-hour time instead?

  18. Allow NewRelic integration to use EU APIs instead of default US APIs for clusters in EU region

The NewRelic integration in MongoDB is using the default NewRelic API that is in non-EU region. There is a separate API endpoint for EU region, that is described at https://docs.newrelic.com/docs/using-new-relic/welcome-new-relic/get-started/introduction-eu-region-data-center#.

This is causing 'newRelicLicenseKey' failed to authenticate error for the MongoDB Atlas cluster setup in EU region.

  19. Include cluster node list in getOneCluster

Include cluster node information for all nodes in the cluster in the response JSON for the getOneCluster API call. As hostnames are needed for other API calls, there ought to be a better way to get cluster node names.

  20. Allow to create Dashboard

Please provide feature to create a dashboard for metrics like CPU, memory consumption etc for a cluster or more than one cluster in single graphs like for cpu one graph, for memory one graph like that just like monitoring tools provide for example zabbix screens and dashboards, stackdriver dashboards, dynatrace dashboards.

This is to have a glance on our entire architecture instead of checking each and every cluster every time. This will be particularly useful during load tests or business peak period where we need to check more than one cluster performance.
