Annual Snapshot Retention Policy Option
I have customers that would like the ability to retain annual snapshots going back 5 or so years for compliance reasons. Currently, you can do this with monthly snapshots by retaining for 5*12 months, but then you have to store all the monthly snapshots in between.

Yes, please support annual / yearly backups, we are missing this and have to do the yearly one manually atm, which is a compliance risk if we didn't do it for one reason or another.
We are in the insurance industry, and if you want more customers in the financial space, this is really a MUST and OVERDUE feature to have.
While this might be something we do in the future, we now have the ability to perform an export of the snapshot which is a much better archive for long retention. See https://docs.atlas.mongodb.com/backup/cloud-backup/export/
mongodb doesn't have 7 years backup retention for yearly backup. Please add feature to take yearly backup and enable backup retention for years
Hi Gergely, Thank you for the feedback. I'll move this to the backup section for Atlas as we'd need that as a feature first before we could support in Terraform. Moving there will allow it to be more easily seen by the right people here. Thanks! Melissa
It would be great to have support for yearly backup, including via terraform:
I agree that this would definitely enhance mongo's capabilities for compliance with client retention policies
If you're using MongoDB for any kind of government contracts this is a must have.
