Dark mode
Please release a dark mode MongoDB Atlas interface. Thank you.

I'm an early riser, and at 4am the light from my monitors lights up the house. All the programs I use have a dark mode (Visual Studio, Postman, my dark Windows desktop) but not Mongo Atlas :(

My eyes are suffering, I literally hate reading collections on white theme. I think you guys are capable of adding button for dark-theme or some type of preference, right?!

Do you really want to be the only tool that hurts your user's eyes when working (all will be switching between windows)? Think of all the devs who hate using Atlas because of this, and the hard-to-measure financial impact it has on retention.
Your compass supports it (which looks to be mostly a browser) - You might consider adding an 'experimental' version so it doesn't need to be polishedm, and you can get it out quickly. Then track how many users suffer an incomplete dark mode to see if it's worth doing 'properly'? I think you'd be surprised at the result.

@andrewDavidson, we are not talking about some top voted idea that came in a few weeks ago. Dude, its 3 years!!! The point is I've zero hopes of submitting an idea today that would be at the bottom of this pile of ideas, that will ever see the light in the endless MongoDB's tunnel!
This particular idea is an indication of how much the MongoDB cares about this feedback portal itself.

We do prioritize and are working on active dependencies right now: those dependencies will take us some time to work through. In terms of why we work on many other things in parallel rather than only this wonderful feature, it's because we have tens of thousands of customers and 150k sign-ups each month, including many that are just starting their MongoDB journeys for whom ensuring we have the right abstractions and assistance throughout is paramount, so we invest across the lifecycle in capabilities to do so. Our customers also pull us in the direction of adding aperture-expanding capabilities to do more with their data. And finally, we have many large-scale sophisticated workloads powering some of the most popular applications in the world which require a variety of mission criticality capabilities to keep pushing the boundaries of what's possible. In summary, we have to balance across many important objectives. And developer experience, including offering an intuitive look and feel that developers want is absolutely a priority, it's just not something we can stop all other work to do. We will get there. I appreciate your passion and enthusiasm and ask you to bear with us through this process with patience.

Hi Andrew, sorry to hear you don't prioritize this.
I agree with Manan. A lot of us make software for a living as you are too. Listening to users is 101 UX design. So, I wonder what can be more important? And to be honest, dark mode is not that hard to implement these days.

Hi Manan,
On the contrary: we follow this very closely and read every comment. Many of us, myself included, are very passionate about delivering dark mode in the future. We are also balancing this investment against our customers' other mission critical requirements and have to maintain a balance. In the interests of transparency, we are actively working on key dependencies to enable a more flexible front-end experience including dark mode in the future--timeline remains multiple quarters out.

I don't think anyone at Atlas Product Team even care about what the community ideas are. They just have this Feedback page because they have to. I'm not necessarily favoring this particular idea or any other, but my point is if this is the most voted and is open now for almost three years, with tons of comments the community deserve at least a response from Atlas Team. But nope, they have their own priorities. I've given up any faith in sending any feedback ideas. This literally goes into a black hole.
