  1. Axis custom styling

It'd be great to be able to change the font size, color, and also the orientation of the labels.
Setting a maximum and minimum font size would be awesome.

  2. Cookies should be set with the 'SameSite' attribute

Hi guys, Chrome 79 reports an issue with cookies set by the embedded charts. It seems like they are missing the 'SameSite' attribute. If you could bring the cookies up to speed to comply with this apparent new standard, it'd be great.

Warning message I get in the Chrome console: "A cookie associated with a cross-site resource at <URL> was set without the SameSite attribute. A future release of Chrome will only deliver cookies with cross-site requests if they are set with SameSite=None and Secure. You can review cookies in developer tools under Application>Storage>Cookies and see more details at…

  3. Map Chart ID's to Dashboard

After embedding a chart an id is generated like this

    id=083882db-f78f-6477-b8fa-dc8ggfd787be

It would be good if you map these id's with dashboards like first few chars would be same for the dashboard and embedded chart .So that While embedding them into our dashboard we can filter out who can see our charts based on ID we provide.

  5. Capability to add additional labels to Charts

    Dear Charts Team,

I need to add additional labels to a Geospatial Scatter Chart such that I can display additional information about each datapoint.

The need arises, as we want to create a report, that allows the user to get an overview of the single data points as well as relevant metadata without the need to lookup this information in an additional table / connect to the Cluster and investigate the rest of the necessary information.

The project that I am building is an internal project thus I am using the sample Airbnb dataset to make an example.

    I have…

  6. Add US Counties/Parishes/Boroughs to Choropleth Shape Schemes

We could use a little more granularity on the Choropleth Geospatial Chart. We'd like to be able to look at a single state, and denote values of each of the counties, parishes, or boroughs of that state.

This feature is currently available for the UK, but not for the US.

  7. Grouped stacked bar chart

A bar chart that can be both clustered and stacked simultaneously expands substantially the analytical possibilities (as it allows the visualisation of additional fields/variables). It seems to me that such a chart cannot be generated in the current version.

Congrats to the MongoDB team for developing Charts. It is an extremely useful resource.

  8. Option to identify "now" in a date chart

In a scatter plot, when one of the axes is a date, add a formatting option (on/OFF) to add an indicator of the current instant (now) on the graph or axis, if it's on the range plotted.

  9. Ability to specify the square size

This must be at dashboard level.

In some cases squares can be a bit smaller or a bit larger.

If you have a table and you want to expand a little bit, but one square is too much.
In that case you must modify the size of squares of dashboard and resize the table.

  11. Prompt-able Filters

There is a need to frequently change the date filter to produce reports for Month-to-date, Year-to-date, Specific date range, etc. Please provide option to build charts that prompt for attribute values on filter instead of just having a static filter.

  12. Default source

When adding a chart normally you are using the same data source over and over. Why not pre-select that data source so that you avoid having to click that per every chart you add

  13. Sydney nodes for atlas charts

It would be great if we could get some nodes to serve APAC for charts to bring down the latency a bit, rather than having to go to us-east-1 AWS region.

I imagine this is planned as Stitch already has nodes in Sydney but I thought I would make a note.

Thanks for all the hard work!

  15. It is good idea to roll out auto indexing on tier above M30. Otherwise, it would be difficult for customer migrating from M30 and above

We are on a range of Mongodb clusters, starting from M20 up to M60. While the concept of auto-indexing is appealing, it is disappointing that this feature is not available on higher tier plans. When a customer upgrades from M30 to M40, they lose access to this feature and are forced to manually add it, which can be burdensome for them. Therefore, we kindly request that you investigate this issue and provide a prompt solution.

  16. Support "Period Comparison" or "Cumulative Sums" with Multi-Series Data

It appears the "Compare Periods" functionality is not supported with multi-series (i.e., like Stacked Column) charts. This UI for configuring this functionality disappears once a Series is added.

  19. Being able to destroy an embedded chart or dashboard

The Charts Embedding SDK should expose some sort of destroy method to assist with cleaning up the DOM nodes created inside the divRef element.

The workaround at the moment for this is to manually do this cleanup yourself inside the function returned by useLayoutEffect. A CodeSandbox example is https://codesandbox.io/s/blissful-resonance-5yjrpq?file=/src/App.tsx

  20. Connecting AWS Costs and Bills on Atlas Charts

I don’t know whether this can be a feature request or something already present in Atlas but I don’t know about it.

I have a Peering Connection with my AWS account on my Mongo Atlas account. Recently, I saw that Atlas launched a Billing dashboard to monitor your Atlas Costs over a range of time. Does Atlas have some plugin or feature where we can import only the costs/billing data from our AWS account (one connected with Atlas using a Peering connection)?

Maybe, we can add a custom IAM role in our AWS account using which Atlas can have only…
