  1. Kill switch for Aggregation Pipeline queries

This would be useful for working with big collections(10 mil+).

When i define aggregation pipeline in Compass, and increase timeout to some high value(because it's big collection so the pipeline can easily run for minutes and let it run, and than while it's running i change some of the stages to something else - due to that intentionally big timeout, i have to now wait before the first query ends, and then try to run the new one.

A kill switch, either manual or automatic on stage change would help with this

  2. Inserting images to MongoDB Compass so we can manually insert images without using api or something

    Sorry for being new here.

Think I have an idea to enable Compass to insert images manually. Thanks!

  3. Sync Database Schema & Collection Schema

To efficiently work in a development environment and then apply changes to the database changes, something like diff between development (source) and production (target) database, there has to be a feature of synchronising Schema only (without data) with optional opt in for Data as well. It should be bi directional. While synchronising Collections, Schema validation should also be allowed to synchronise apart from indexes. All these options should be allowed to select or de select with proper warnings.

  4. I would like to name an "Alias" for my MongoDB connections

I have many MongoDB Connections in my Compass in different ports. But it would be nice if I could identify then.

  5. Avoid listing deleted Atlas databases in Compass

Deleted databases appear in the view even though it's not reflected in the database itself.

  6. "Relaxed Mode" be added to compass exports,

Compass should have a feature to export data in Relaxed Mode . It's exporting the unwanted objectId": { "$numberLong": "48726857629970" } for consistency import which is not required . For some data-comparison , I need the relaxed mode feature to be enabled . This would be an additional features enables users to export the collection in relaxed mode as well

  11. Network message compressor support

I've got MongoDB 4.2 Community server which is configured with net.compression.compressors: "zstd, snappy, zlib" but after inspecting the output of db.serverStatus(), it seems MongoDB Compass is not using any compressor.

It'd be nice to support compression and actually allow users to configure preferred compressors like Mongo Shell does.

  13. Allow CSV import window to dynamically resize based on Compass size

    macOS Sequioa 15.6.1
    Compass - Version 1.46.8 (1.46.8)

When you view a collection there is the Add Data dropdown, which gives the option for Import JSON or CSV file.

Using this allows you to upload a CSV file, which works.

However, the import window seems to be set at a fixed height and width, so even making Compass itself larger doesn't change this.

This makes reviewing an import CSV with a lot of columns a bit of a pain, with lots of side scrolling.

For me at least it makes it more difficult to spot any errant "Types" that I…

  14. Make aggregate results editable

It would be great if you could update database key / values within an aggregate result, just like you can on the Documents tab.

  15. Open already connected DB in new window

If I'm already connected to one of my DBs but want to view it in a new window, I have to disconnect, then connect -> open in new window. It would be nice to be able to open a new window without extra steps.

  16. Re-open tab closed by accident

Similar to Cmd+Shift+T (Mac) or Ctrl+Shift+T (Win), re-open tab(s) that was closed.

I often close tabs by accident when I drag the mouse to the tab and click to activate it and the cursor was on top of the X and close the tab instead. Very frustrating. The key binding can even be the same as the browsers, to keep it more familiar.

  17. Show state of replica set members in connection info

It would be nice if the current state of the members of a replica set would be shown in the connection info window (PRIMARY, SECONDARY, ARBITER, ...).

So the states can be easily checked without using the shell.

  18. Allow per-instance read-only databases in MongoDB

    Hello MongoDB team,

I manage several isolated MongoDB instances for different environments (dev, preprod, prod). In some cases, I would like to make an entire database read-only to prevent accidental writes (e.g., for preproduction).

Currently, MongoDB only supports read-only at the instance level (with --readOnly or similar mechanisms), but there is no way to set a specific database as read-only.

    Feature Request:

Add a supported way to start a single MongoDB instance in read-only mode, regardless of the databases it hosts.
Use case: allow devs/testers to read from preprod data without risking unwanted writes.

This would help improve safety in…

  19. Toggle for full shell query

When you to export to language it would be great to have compass provide you with the full shell command including the connection string so all you truly have to do is copy/paste.

  20. Dual Scroll in Query editor

When you looking at a stage in the query builder it would be great to somehow have both sides scroll at the same time - input stage and output stage so I know that if I'm looking at doc 1 on input its also going to be doc 1 on output.
