    Why doesn't Compass remember/record the zoom level we're not comfortable with?

  3. Always select focused collection in sidebar navigation (Compass)

    In the UI of the Compass interface, users navigate through databases and collections primarily via the sidebar. However, there's an aspect of user experience that can be enhanced. Specifically, I am proposing a feature where the sidebar navigation dynamically reflects and highlights the database or collection that is currently in focus in the main tab area.

    This means, that when a user selects and works on a particular database or collection, that specific item should automatically become highlighted or marked in the sidebar.

    And Compass' EOL date is 18 months after its release unless it's a major version (24 months). Compass release dates are in https://github.com/mongodb-js/compass/releases

  6. Let me resize my window to be 960 pixels wide.

    I often arrange my windows so that I have one application on the left side of my desktop screen and another application on the right side. But MongoDB Compass won't allow me to resize the window to be that small. My screen is 1920 pixels wide (a very common resolution) and it won't let me resize my window to half of that width (1920 / 2 = 960 pixels) to make it fit neatly on half of my screen.   8. Support for linux/aarch64

    Asahi linux has been gaining some traction. Its a linux distribution based on the ARM architecture, specifically Apple Silicon. Since we already create a binary for Aarch64 for MacOS, would it be possible to make a release for aarch64 for linux as well!?

  10. Clarify release flavours

    On Github there are multiple versions of the .deb package, e.g. -readonly or -isolated

    Please clarify in the Readme.md in the mongodb-js/compass Github repository what these are and which one should be used in which scenario.

  11. Make it easier to switch between Performance Tab view and Collection Tabs view

    Once you click on "Databases" you loose the Collection Tab view and the only way to get back to it is to click on a collection again, but unless you click on the same collection it will overwrite the last collection you were looking at.
    Maybe add a new menu tab that returns you to the Collections view, with your saved collection tabs.

  13. Live streaming logs in Atlas cluster /Compass

    When using Linux machines we can get logs through tail commands with live streaming like that if you are implement in Atlas cluster/Compass it is very easy to identify issues instantly.

    New versions are constantly available. Blocking workflow with constant prompts is frustrating. No other software does this. Put in taskbar or somewhere passive!!

  15. add option for skipping a version update

    On MacOS (ARM), add an option for "skip this version update".

    Not sure, if this issue persists in other builds as well.

    Right now, everytime compass is launched it presents an annoying popup asking for update, and the only options are install, or ask me later. If you select ask me later, it shows the popup again on next start. What is needed is an option for "Don't ask me again for this version". This is kind of a standard feature in most products.

  16. Chrome like controls

    I would like to be able to use chrome like controls to switch between tabs

    Cmd+opt+arrows - previous, next tab
    Cmd+t - create new tab (and select it like vs code cmd+p mode)
    Cmd+w - close tab

  18. In-order to make the Compass more aligned with the Atlas, can we have Chart feature in Compass as well?

    Feature of Chart as it is in Atlas would help users to do more experiments and tests on his/her local before going to the Atlas

  20. QoL: Rename the Windows shortcut from MongoDBCompass to MongoDB Compass

    I often search Compass (without MongoDB) on Windows Search and it does not show up because its written as MongoDBCompass instead of MongoDB Compass.
    It would be a nice QoL improvement.
