Autoscaling with custom conditions to scale up( change 1 hour to adjustable time) or down(change fixed 24 hours to adjustable time)
Currently autoscaling is predefined with conditions like
scale up:
The Average CPU Utilization has exceeded 75% for the past hour.
The Memory Utilization has exceeded 75% for the past hour.
scale down:
The average CPU Utilization and Memory Utilization over the past 24 hours is below 50%.
The cluster hasn't been scaled down (manually or automatically) in the past 24 hours.
Following changes will save more resources and money:
-This 24 hours time for scale down should be made flexible/adjustable to suit customers requirement.
-One hour time to scale up should be adjustable to scale up faster. This may need for some critical application.
First one will save more valuable resource and money while db will be running in optimized condition
Second one will reduce critical application failure by adjusting scale up time

+1 the 24 hour scale down time is way too long to handle applications that experience all their load during business hours, for example.

Hi Team,
Can we get the autoscaling setup based on our project requirement as the existing setup is of no use for us (no major peak or failure will exist. for an hour) as mentioned in the ticket(01353029). -

I have a set of pipelines i run that take 1 h 30 mins to complete. I run this process once a day. Scale up from M20 to M30 occurs , but then wastes 22.30 hours at M30 before scaling down back. I need the ability to configure the scale down window to much less.

This is much needed for us as we have an app where traffic spikes all within 15-30 minutes on several moments throughout the day because it's related to sport events, and right now we need to upgrade manually, while we should just be able to make a schedule to up and downgrade automatically or set other custom indicators. The time it takes to upgrade also takes way to long, goal should be instant more sources available if on autoscaling so that always any spike in traffic is served properly, that's what Cloud should mean. I'm not really sure why this is not there in 2023, been a while now since Mongo is there. Not negativity but autoscalling should be top priority, especially because you guys are not cheap. For us it's so crucial that from a business perspective we would even reconsider being dependent on mongodb.com if we would decide to rebuild our codebase. And I'm sure there are other apps out there.

This feature is very critical for our operation, this way we will be able to maintain our costs in the long term and expand the application of mongoDB in the company
