  1. Overview Section Needs Overhaul

The new "Overview" section at the top of the "Data Services" section of the website is maddening. Clicking "Data Services" now defaults to this view and what I REALLY want is my "databases" list. The overview page is a waste of my time.

"Databases" gives me a nice list of all my clusters with graphs of the history and I can easily dig in to get to what I need.

"Overview" gives me a stupid tabbed box where each cluster is a tab (WHY?) and the tab contains useless links instead of the nicely graphed data from the "databases" page.

  2. Stretchable / Customizable Collection Panel width

We have long names for collections and most times first few letters are always same, it would be great if we can stretch the left panel width so that we could see the full collection name.

  3. Filter on Collection / Database name should be retained after the click of either the collection / database

It's pretty annoying that once you filter say xyz in Namespace / database / collection, it shows the filtered database and collections but once user clicks on any of these UI looses the filter string and navigation resets.

  4. Make Visit Project Settings in Organizational view page available to Project Owners

Currently Org Owners from the Main Organizational view page can see the Visit Project Settings option for each Project.

However, Project Owners cannot see this option from the Main Organizational view page and they can only see all menu options at the Project level page where Project Settings is not visible.

If Project Owners could see the Visit Project Settings option from the Main Organizational view page this would make navigation much easier rather than opening up the Project Level page to open Project settings

  5. UI is cluttered, wireframe-like, and does not orient user attention appropriately

There is simply too much going on on screen that is given the exact same visual weight.

You need to use more colors in the color scheme, use icons that are more individually unique. You also need to define some different regions using more noticeable background colors. Serif fonts also introduce a complication in designing for articulate use of space, because it conflicts with block design.

All in all, the website design does not help orient user attention to the overall mental model of the features: the features are not prioritized and nested very well. You need to reduce how…

  6. Hostname lookup/search capability in Ops Manager at global level

This would give customers the capability

    • To tell which project a host belongs to do some sort of lookup in Ops Manager

    • Go to a central place, put in the hostname, and see what the project belongs to

For example in the UI on the all clusters view, be able to do a global search for the host instead Mainly for the UI

at the moment there are 10 tags per project, but sometimes project has more than 100 hosts

  8. Invert DropDown Menu to navigate to different sections (like, University or Atlas)

You should invert the dropdown for swithing different sections. Because this confused me everytime I click the dropdown button (arrown down or arrow up). I have attach the screen shot as well. Please look into this if you believe it is annoying others as well not just me.

  9. Make adding Teams to Projects searchable by any string.

Searching by only emails does not brings up Teams. Teams doesn't have emails so they doesn't show up, obviously.

There is also very bad UI with suggestions - only 2 items are shown. But no hint, that this list is scrollable. I found out by accident.

  11. public link to my mongodb university 'profile' so I can prove my training

I have profiles on several different learning platforms and the one feature that I really like is that I can often time give a public URL to someone who wishes to see my profile and the courses I've completed. It seems that MongoDB University doesn't yet offer this feature. It would be really nice if it did!

  12. Security Code Autocomplete Mac

For quicker sign in I think it would be nice to have security code autofill for Two Factor Authentication for Mac enabled. Below I have attached documentation to be more specific.

  13. Faster Loading of Documents

For large documents, the MongoDB website will freeze or experience immense lag. Improving performance would be great.

  14. Single pane of glass/ single view of MDB systems for monitoring/performance

On behalf of UK customer: Would be good to have a centralised view of their whole MDB systems. Would like to see at glance performance instead of using a dashboard for each specific server.

  16. Don't dismiss modals on click outside

On several modals within the mongodb.com UI, if the user clicks outside of the modal, the modal gets dismissed and all form fields are lost.

Several of these modals (e.g., Database Access user creation, Live Migration tool, etc.) have form fields that users are likely to fill via Copy-Paste from other sources. I find very often that when I'm copying form data from another tab/window and trying to navigate back to the mongodb.com tab/window to paste, I accidentally click outside of the modal and the modal gets dismissed and any of my form entries are lost. This is very irritating.…

  17. Show Errors in Stitch Cards

When looking at the Stitch tab after the redesign I see great potential. Seeing information about the app before having to open it is amazing. Instead of displaying just usage stats it would be good to also see if there has been an error since the app was last opened.

I am running 13 different Stitch Apps at the moment to keep code separated. All these apps run on automated triggers at various times during the day and night. Things can and do go wrong. When I now want to know if and what broke, I have to open every…
