Charts

MongoDB Charts is the best way to create visualizations of MongoDB data. Connect to any MongoDB instance as a data source, create charts and graphs, embed them into your applications or build live dashboards for sharing and collaboration.

  1. Charts' Filters not Duplicated with Dashboard

    More of a bug than an idea, when duplicating a dashboard the charts' filter/aggregation isn't copied. This bug requires setting the filter/aggregation for every chart manually.

  2. Error while bringing up the data source.

    An error occurs in the process of importing a data source.
    I don't know the reason for this error.

  3. Package On-Prem Charts without Docker

    Create an installation package of MongoDB Charts that does not run in a container.

  4. Build non-root Charts Docker Image

    Deploying the MongoDB Charts Docker image into a security context aware/restrictive Kubernetes (OpenShift) environment requires elevated service account policies. Specifically, the requirement to run processes as root are not available in the default policies for OpenShift.

    The request is to redesign the Docker image to run all processes under a non-root user.

  5. Logarithmic axis

    It would be great to have the option to have a logarithmic axis on every kind of graphs, sometimes you have a graph with some major differences between points for example if 1 object has a value of 2 million and the rest of your data is below 100. The only visible data is the one of 2milion and the rest of the data is not clearly visible anymore

  6. add prefix for system databases/make names configurable

    Currently the MongoDb Charts system databases are called
    * metadata
    * app
    * auth
    * log

    which collides with our app specific databases.

    A solution could be to prefix them e.g. mongodbchartsmetadata.

    The same issue we have with a standard MongoDB Database named config which was introduced in MongoDb 3.6 to store information about replicasets. This could also have the mongodb_ prefix.

    So currently there is no way to distinguish a MongoDB internal database from a app-specific one.
