Is there any updates on this? We really need this feature and this is having a huge impact on deciding if we stay mongodb or not.

Our customer is looking for this function, or they won't choose MongoDB at all. Please help to raise the priority.

IHAC will use huge amount of Atlas Search for their ledger, they must use decimals.
They are preparing a big event in June 2024, but need to test recently. It's great opportunity for our APAC region if you consider adding this new feature of Decimal 128. -

While this feature would be valuable for me, I've had a better idea that would solve it and all kinds of other scenarios as well:

See also my feature request about type coercion. That would solve this need for me.

Agreed. It should work with the new Sort features as well.
Although for the purposes of Atlas Search, I would settle for a lossy type coercion to a normal decimal or int64 (depending on the defined representation).

This is extremely important for us to have Atlas Search support for decimal data values such as prices.
