On demand snapshots in Ops Manager
Allow the possibility of performing a snapshot on-demand.
Usually the snapshot time ends too far away in time after configuration changes of the backup job (i.e: changing the block size). For testing purposes it would make sense to allow performing a snapshot on-demand to get it generated and proceed with further testing/tuning if required.
We have begun development to allow on demand snapshots in a future version of Ops Manger and Cloud Manager. I will provide an update at later time with a potential release date

Hi team, we'd love this feature in ops manager because as our deployments get larger in size it becomes nearly impossible to meet deadlines while doing a mongodump.

Hi Team,
Adhoc backups feature will be really helpful for many scenarios. It will be great if this feature gets included in Ops Manager

Team,
It will be great if we can get this soon.
Even though we have continuous backups, we still need adhoc backups for our envs in some cases.Thanks.

We too prefer we feature. While continuous backup is good for oltp application, but it is little helpful for batch jobs. The batch jobs drops and reload collections .. it puts pressure on oplog store. We prefer on-demand or adhoc snapshot for batch job applications.
We prefer adhoc-snapshot feature separate from continuous backup. With on-demand we can create checkpoints.
