  1. immutable backups

    currently Atlas - MongoDB backup are stated to be immutable, however, that is not true because there is no object lock on the s3 bucket.

    We would like to request adding the option to have an object lock on the s3 bucket that our snapshots are located on which will make sure that the snapshots can only be deleted by retention and not modified or deleted by anyone else. This is to line up with WORM compliance while dealing with financial data.

  2. Terraform integration to manage project's API keys

    Hello team,

    we're still missing the capability to create project's API keys via terraform and have to deal with some python scripts to automatically provision new keys in dynamic way(when new projects come up).

    I know this question has been already asked and your idea is to use Vault, but probably it's not good idea to install this heavy tool for the single application...and we can't use Vault in dynamic way because it doesn't contain 'MongodbAtlas Secret Engine' available via terraform provider.

    Please consider to add possibility of creation API keys via terraform and let us decide whether it's security…

  3. Allow configuration of Data Federation via Terraform

    The mongodbatlas_data_lake (which should be renamed to reflect the new Data Federation name) doesn't allow you to specify the configuration. Without it, there is little value in having the resource defined in terraform at all.

    This issue: https://github.com/mongodb/terraform-provider-mongodbatlas/issues/561 was created over a year ago to ask for this. A comment from MongoDB indicates its in the plan, just wanted to provide a vote for it.

  4. Add Terraform resource for functions

    Would be great to have a terraform resource like mongodbatlas_function.
    Was mentioned here https://github.com/mongodb/terraform-provider-mongodbatlas/issues/828 but I didn't find the idea mentioned there, so I added this one here.

  5. Create Atlas App Services and Link Them To Clusters with Terraform

    It would be great to create App Services (Realm Apps) and then create the service link to an Atlas Cluster with Terraform.

    This is so that Trigger resources can be created fully within Terraform, rather than having to hack together API calls, CLI commands or manual steps.

  6. To not to delete the most recent backup when the DB is deleted

    After a cluster is terminated in MongoDB Atlas, the backups disappear with it. It will be good to preserve the most recent backup of this database. Otherwise, there is no point to have backup if the DB cannot be recover after accidental delete

  7. Add Terraform support for Realm Apps

    Realm Apps (https://docs.mongodb.com/realm/get-started/create-realm-app/) can't be managed via Terraform. This would be a great addition to the provider!

  8. Backup Policy change approvals

    The Backup Policy configuration shows a checkbox allowing the altered backup policy to affect all prior backups. The problem with this is that someone could accidentally (or maliciously) delete all prior backups.

    This feature request would include implementing some sort of multi level approval prior to enacting said recursive backup policy changes (affecting prior backup snapshots).

  9. AWS CFN MongoDB::Atlas::<> in all AWS regions

    Please publish the MongoDB::Atlas::<> resources types into all AWS regions (currently only in us-east-1).
    Some of us have restrictions in place that deny the direct use of us-east-1.
    Thanks,

  10. option to create a final snapshot before deleting a cluster

    Today when an Atlas cluster is deleted, all backups/snapshots of this cluster are deleted along with it.

    This is especially an issue when working with automation tools like terraform, where a cluster can be deleted by accident easily.

    In AWS Aurora Postgres, for example, there is an option to create a "final snapshot" before deleting the cluster.

    If this option is enabled for a cluster, whenever a user triggers the deletion of the cluster (either manually, via API, or any other method), a final snapshot will be created, before the cluster is deleted.

    This final snapshot is then available independently…

  11. Recovery after cluster delete

    Cloud Backups should be recoverable even after a cluster delete otherwise they can't really be considered backups. One way to do this would be to allow for automated backup downloads to customer specified cloud provider storage.

    As per the title, add a new CFN resource MongoDB::Atlas::PrivateEndpoint to manage PrivateLink interfaces into Atlas, based on https://docs.atlas.mongodb.com/reference/api/private-endpoints/

  14. Vault Lock to protect Atlas Cloud Backups

    We are currently looking for a solution to secure our Atlas backups.

    Something similar to AWS Glacier Vault Lock [1] or a simple grace period before backups are deleted once and for all would be nice.

    It would be amazing to protect the Atlas backups from being deleted.
    Currently, if one of our Atlas admins was compromised, the damage for the company would be enormously high. So we need to implement measures against the final deletion of our most mission critical data.

  15. Cluster Termination Protection

    It is possible to quickly delete an entire cluster, for example through terraform, if you're not careful.

    It would be great to have a "Termination Protection" feature that can only be disabled in the Admin UI and not via the public APIs.

    In terraform I could then enable it like so

    resource "mongodbatlas_cluster" "my_cluster" {
      enable_delete_protection = true
    }

    When I would run terraform destroy the cluster should not be destroyed and instead the API returns an error saying that the Cluster has Termination Protection enabled. If I want to disable it, I can login to the Admin UI, select…

  16. Left Side menu collapse

    on the laptop screen, we have't much space for querying the data filter portion. If we have an option to collapse the left side menu, it may get more working space.

  17. Support native Azure authentication for the DB, e.g. service principal

    Customers often want centralized permissioning for the database and LDAP is not generally supported well in the cloud. If a customer is using Azure, they want us to support Azure AD for database authentication. I believe that means using service principals

  18. Cloud backup for m0 instances

    It would be nice and convenient if lower-tier users could have the cloud backup option available (I believe m5 is the smallest but it's $9/month). I use m0 for one of my projects and I know mongodump is an option but I would much rather pay $1/month extra for backup capabilities. This project is quite small and I don't need much resources, but I would like the ability to scedule daily backups for a small fee.

  20. atlas portal ip whitelist

    We were given this idea from a security audit.

    From a security-in-depth perspective we would like to be able to restrict logins on the atlas portal to only whitelisted IP's, this would be analog as to how API whitelisting works at the organization level.
    This is to prevent login's other than from our permitted sites.
