Deny Maintenance Period

What problem are you trying to solve?

Focus on the what and why of the need you have, not the how you'd like it solved.

We would like to have feature of deny any maintenance during specific period like business peak days ( Cyber Monday for retailers, Mother's day and Valentines' day for flower companies).

What would you like to see happen?

Describe the desired outcome or enhancement.

Before business peak days, companies maintain code freeze, deployment freeze to avoid any new changes which might introduce bugs and destablize the system. This feature avoid manual defer maintenance option during specific day and time window like this date to this date no maintenance from Atlas side.

Why is this important to you or your team?

Explain how the request adds value or solves a business need.

Our company maintain code freeze during business peak days and need same commitment from Mongo atlas side as well and there should not be manual intervention to defer maintenance.

What steps, if any, are you taking today to manage this problem?

As of now we are clicking on defer maintenance to avoid updates.

We built Protected Hours to help with exactly this need. In addition to setting a maintenance window, you can define daily protected hours during which Atlas avoids performing standard maintenance activities. Atlas will then schedule maintenance outside of those protected hours whenever possible.

Protected hours does not allow you to set a specific date range, but for those occasions, you have the ability to defer maintenance via the UI or API.

Could you try Protected Hours and let us know whether it addresses your code-freeze and peak-business-day requirements?
