We’ve upgraded our feedback system to better capture, track, and act on your feedback. Here’s what you need to know:
|
What problem are you trying to solve? Focus on the what and why of the need you have, not the how you'd like it solved. |
As teams scale on MongoDB Atlas, it becomes difficult to clearly understand and predict costs and operational impact as usage grows. Additionally, gaps between local development environments and Atlas-managed features introduce friction, making it harder to debug issues early and move confidently into production. |
|
What would you like to see happen? Describe the desired outcome or enhancement. |
I’d like Atlas to provide clearer, more proactive visibility into cost drivers and performance behavior, along with stronger parity between local development and Atlas environments. The goal is for developers to understand what’s happening and why before issues become expensive or customer-facing. |
|
Why is this important to you or your team? Explain how the request adds value or solves a business need. |
Cost predictability and faster debugging directly affect delivery speed, system reliability, and customer trust. When teams can confidently forecast costs and diagnose issues early, they spend less time firefighting and more time building value. This is especially critical for lean teams and growing products where margins and velocity matter. |
What steps, if any, are you taking today to manage this problem? |
Currently, we rely on manual monitoring, conservative scaling decisions, custom alerts, and internal documentation to avoid surprises. We also try to replicate production behavior locally as much as possible, though this often falls short of true Atlas parity and adds operational overhead. |
