Teams cannot effectively collaborate on data models and visualizations in MongoDB Atlas. These artifacts are currently user- or environment-specific, which forces teams to repeatedly export and import them to share changes or work together. This manual workflow is inefficient, error-prone, and does not scale, leading to duplicated work, inconsistent models, and reduced visibility into changes over time.

What would you like to see happen?

We would like MongoDB Atlas to support collaborative data modeling and visualization through shared workspaces. Data models and visualizations should be reusable across users, teams, and environments. This would eliminate the need for repeated export/import cycles and enable teams to work on the same artifacts in a structured and transparent way.

Our team works collaboratively on shared data structures across multiple environments. The current export/import workflow is time-consuming, error-prone, and makes it difficult to keep models and visualizations consistent. Native collaboration would significantly improve productivity, reduce mistakes, and provide better governance and visibility into changes, allowing us to scale our workflows more effectively as a team.
