Add project-level alert: "Monthly amount billed ($) is above threshold"

What problem are you trying to solve?

Focus on the what and why of the need you have, not the how you'd like it solved.

MongoDB Atlas currently provides billing alerts based on daily usage (Daily amount billed ($) is above), but there is no equivalent alert based on monthly accumulated spend at the project level.

Daily alerts are useful for detecting sudden spikes, but they do not reflect how budgets are actually managed, which is usually on a monthly basis.

As a result, it is difficult to know when a project is about to exceed its expected monthly budget.

What would you like to see happen?

Describe the desired outcome or enhancement.

In addition to daily billing alerts, I would like to have a project-level monthly billing alert, for example:

“Monthly amount billed ($) is above threshold”

The alert should be evaluated on the current calendar month, based on the cumulative billed amount, and trigger when the defined threshold is exceeded.

Why is this important to you or your team?

Explain how the request adds value or solves a business need.

Our budgets and cost controls are defined monthly, not daily.

Daily-only alerts do not fully address these needs.

What steps, if any, are you taking today to manage this problem?

Today, we use daily alerts combined with manual tracking and external reporting to estimate monthly spend.

Native monthly billing alerts at the project level would significantly simplify cost monitoring.
