Linux ARM 64 builds (Apple M1)
The linux support of the apple M1 and following chips is getting better in a fast pace. Would be great if mongodb compass could be used on such a device / operating system combo.

Font size and light themes for the mongo shell
Rather than zooming the whole compass window,chage size of font as per preference and add light theme to mongosh(Mongo Shell)

Avoid running queries on an ongoing condition writing. (match, lookup...)
when performing a match, lookup or other similar ops, Don't run the query as I write the conditions but only when I'm done. this will improve speed significantly and will prevent crashes due to lack of memory on very large sets.
when an operation that filters data occurs, you can add a small toggle btn when I'm done writing the query, and only then perform the search.
another idea is to add a boolean field named done which on init will be set to false, and when a user is done writing the query it sets it last to true.…2 votes -
Make Compass update notification non-blocking
New versions are constantly available. Blocking workflow with constant prompts is frustrating. No other software does this. Put in taskbar or somewhere passive!!

Integrate GPT for aggregation builder
I would really love a aggregation helper tool that can take prompts to generate snippets and if you want to ask for openAI api key thats also fine, if you don't want to adhere the cost.

add option for skipping a version update
On MacOS (ARM), add an option for "skip this version update".
Not sure, if this issue persists in other builds as well.
Right now, everytime compass is launched it presents an annoying popup asking for update, and the only options are install, or ask me later. If you select ask me later, it shows the popup again on next start. What is needed is an option for "Don't ask me again for this version". This is kind of a standard feature in most products.

import export database not only one data of collection

When exporting a collection, make sorting the fields by alphabet optional
At this moment, one can only select or deselect fields, but one cannot pick any field order other than alphanumerically sorted. I would at least expect 'collection order', but taking this even a step further, it would be awesome if the export fields could be reordered in any order.

Could we set the page limit when browsing a collection? For instance, increasing it from 20 to 100 per page?

MongoDB Compass can have a Account Section
MongoDB Compass can have a option to sign in so that users can log in to their account can directly access their Atlas Clusters without having headache to get connection string and paste it here

Do not load collection data by default (new setting)
When selecting a collection, Compass currently loads data for that collection. I would like there to be a setting that says that no data is loaded until I click Find.
Why?
- because some default data loading takes a looong time (>30s) and clicking Stop doesn't give the user back control (fixing this might be another way to resolve this issue)
- almost always the data loaded by default is not relevant to my task
- almost always I want to enter a specific query first and then hit search

It would be helpful to be able to open multiple mongosh tabs in Compass instead of having to write queries in one tab.

Open document in a json editor
I want to be able to open a document in a JSON editor and edit it there without the key:value restrictions, even when I am viewing documents in the table view.

Missing charts features
The charts inside mongodb are quiet nice but lacks some basic features to be able to setup a environment to create, test and deploy charts from tests to production. Also it is not possible to proper support localization.
It is not possible to develop charts to allow proper development, testing and deploy.
Those features are a must to really work in a proper way:Import/Export:

- The current export does not include the charts view. It should contain the charts view (including its aggregation pipeline)
- Import should then allow create/override the charts view

Support ssh certificates when connecting via ssh
Per this forum post https://www.mongodb.com/community/forums/t/ssh-certificates-with-mongo-compass/204504 Compass does not support the use of ssh certificates.

QoL: Rename the Windows shortcut from MongoDBCompass to MongoDB Compass
I often search Compass (without MongoDB) on Windows Search and it does not show up because its written as MongoDBCompass instead of MongoDB Compass.

allow updating of data via "add data", by importing an updated file
Right now if you export data, modify it, then try to import it, it will throw an error because the ID already exists. I want to update all those documents, not create new ones.

Allow changing font in document output
Current hardcoded choice of fonts: "Source Code Pro", Menlo, monospace doesn't suit me. They first two aren't installed on my computer, so the result is unreadable output using the default "Courier New" font. I want to be able to set my own font family and font size for document output.
