  1. Should give download CSV option for getting all the slow queries details

It will be better if a have an option to download all the slow query related information as whatever we see in the Atlas UI.

  3. Allow disabling TTL Monitor (to allow restoring a snapshot)

    Problem:
If you are restoring a snapshot to check the data, or to look at old data, and the collection has a ttl index, then a snapshot, once restored, will immediately mark a bunch of records for deletion, thus making it impossible to examine, export, or otherwise use that data.

Solutions recommended by support include a) download the snapshot (which is very large) and load it on a local instance with the ttl monitor disabled. b) open a ticket to ask for the ttl monitor to be disabled on a target cluster, however once complete you also need to ask…

  4. Allow access to Admin API using AWS IAM role

It's possible to authenticate to a database using AWS IAM role. The same should be possible for the Admin API.

The problem with the API keys is that they can be taken away and used elsewhere. They pose an additional risk in an AWS integrated environment.

This also relates to upcoming Cloudformation Resources where the extension needs to store the API Key in AWS Secrets Manager. The resource already has a role that could simply be configured to be trusted on the Atlas side.

  5. GCP eu-southwest-1 Madrid Atlas region

Would love to deploy the cluster in the recent GCP eu-southwest-1 region. It is already running, and would be a plus for all Spanish customers reducing latency. It does not yet appear in the Atlas cluster creation page.

  7. Add option to "Explain" a query from the "Profiler" page.

The profiler page shows a list of queries with metadata about them. It would be great to have the option to "explain" any query from this view, or in the slide-out view after clicking on a query.

  9. Reconciliation resources flag improvement

atlas-reconciliation-policy=skip flag provide ability do not sync k8s object status with atlas. But in case when we need to make reference on objects in Atlas (Aka project) and do not create or modify this resource - this flag not very useful nothing. In this case i would be good if
    - or operator sync object from API to k8s resources ( grub id by name so k8s resource will be valid )
    - or at least provide opportunity to set id ( for new resources with atlas-reconciliation-policy=skip set by default )
    Aka:

    • Follow the pattern of reading data from the…

  10. When Adding new CKM key/role Atlas should validate if it can safely change existing CKM key

When we create new CKM key with new role and update credentials on project level, Atlas validates that new role can read new key. But it does not validate if new role can read existing CKM key.

When Atlas starts re-encrypting existing cluster, first node goes down but can't be started because new role can't read old key. There is no way to restore/rollback this change unless raise a ticket for MongoDB support.

Suggestion: when we upgrade credentials/role/KMS key in UI, Atlas should validate if it can finish this change BEFORE applying changes to nodes.

  11. Atlas UI enhancement

    Hi,

Atlas UI is displaying "Database Deployments" earlier it used to be as cluster or clusters.

    1. When we hit the create button all it talks about "CLUSTERS > CREATE NEW CLUSTER"
    2. Right side top corner, we can also see it states "All Clusters"
    3. Terraform resources/attributes talks about Clusters
    4. Only place we see in the home page "Database Deployments"

Our customers are getting confused with Database Deployments with Databases within the clusters. Customers are thinking they need to create more database (database deployments) if they want to have for their application, which is not true. They can create multiple database in…

  12. Support serverless OLAP workloads

I can use scondaries to support OLAP workloads however I'd like autoscale read-only and analytic nodes using the serverless cost model.

  14. Download file button for GridFS on Atlas GUI

When using the "Browse Collection" feature from the Atlas Web frontend it would be nice to be able to download/view files stored in GridFS. Tools like "Studio3T" or "NoSQLBooster for MongoDB" support that use case.

  15. New relic integration

We have an atlas account where all of are databases are, and we use new relic for monitoring and alerting.
It would be great if i could show in new relic dashboards of the status of our mongoDB, because all other dashboards are already there

  16. Ability to create a custom alert based on a query run at configurable interval.

There is currently no way to set up an Alert based on the results of a query directly in Atlas.
One can achieve this functionality using realm and triggers but that can be difficult.

When I enable the DataDog integration in Atlas, I can add just one DataDog API Key. It'll be great if I could add two or more DataDog API Key.

  18. Add support for HTTP based scraping without IP restriction

Prometheus supports a lot in the HTTP scraping space, including oauth and Bearer token based scrape targets.

Currently we use Grafana cloud that has a list of IP address that can scrape from. This "can" change, and if it does and we hardcode this access into Atlas based on IP then it will break the scrape.

Could Mongo add support for token/oauth based scraping. Where we provide these tokens in a HTTPS call?

I think this would solve the issues with things like private link, or peered network connections. It would also allow "any" prometheus server that can make outbound…

  19. Allow switching between shards in the profiler and/or have a combined view

Since the profiler tabs are shard specific, it would radically improve the usability to:
    a) Combine the profiler events to truly have a cluster level view so you don’t need to worry about shard specific views
    b) Add a drop-down to the top of the page near the title that has the various shards listed in it, selecting a different shard brings you back to the same tab, but now with the changed view.
    c) Consider tweaking the URL so that rather than using a SHA in the URL, you use the shard name, making it easy to manipulate the…

  20. Show queries that exceeded maxTimeMs in the Atlas Profiler

We had some queries hit the maxTimeMS and fail. We had to download the log files for visibility into those errors. That is info that we would love to see in the Profiler!
