1. Allow Network Peering to be used by Atlas Triggers / Realm Apps

   What is the problem that needs to be solved? Some users want to receive outgoing network connections (e.g. with HTTP/HTTPS traffic) from Atlas (Atlas Triggers / Realm Apps) via their configured Network Peering, i.e. via private IP address space (so that everything is kept in private IP address space and nobody outside could reach it). Example: customer would like to have Atlas Trigger / Realm App which will notify (via HTTP) some of customer's internal system(s) about a change/trigger.

   Why is it a problem? (the pain) Current Atlas (Atlas Triggers / Realm Apps) behavior does not allow to use private IP address space for such outgoing network connections.

2. Support for push-based logging integration with Google Cloud Storage

   As of now, MongoDB Atlas supports log export functionality exclusively with AWS S3. In addition to the existing AWS S3 bucket integration, would be good to have the capability of pushing logs to GCP Cloud Storage for organisations who depend on GCP for cloud infrastructure.

3. Datadog integration for AP1 region

   I am using Datadog region AP1 (Japan) and I learned that Atlas doesn't support the region for the integration.

   It would be really great and helpful if the integration supports the AP1 region.

5. Add specific database API Metrics for MongoDB Atlas.

   A while back we ran into an issue where we ran out of connections in MongoDB Atlas. It took quite a while to determine which database was being overrun with bad connections. It would be very nice if the API, which we use to pull metrics into another monitoring platform, allowed us to get certain metrics at the database level instead of the overall system level. The metrics I am suggesting are
   Active Connections
   Response Time
   Failed Connections
   Number of requests
   Operation Execution Time

   These would help us more quickly discover the source of the problem and trace it back to the application which is the initial cause

   In lieu of doing 0.0.0.0/0 network access, it'd be great to peer into Tailscale so that anyone that is authorized in our organization's Tailscale VPN can connect effortlessly.

7. Support for customer-managed keys (CMK) on the volume-level instead of Encryption-at-Rest

8. Provide callback method for API calls to avoid polling

   Provide some callback method (webhook URL, push notification, etc) that an API call can use to indicate it's done. That way the user doesn't have to sit and poll endlessly.

   Some examples of where this would help:

   • After creating a restore job, waiting for the snapshot download URL to be ready.
   • After modifying the automationConfig, waiting for all agents to report that they're in goal state.

10. tgw support for Atlas

    Can you please provide TGW support for Atlas? We are using confluent.io kafka with TGW, and found ourselves caught up in situation where kafka has no direct access to atlas, both our EKS and kafka are directly connected to Kafka, but there's no way for kafka to access atlas, because EKS and atlas are connected over vpc peering. We do not take interest in PrivateLink. Our Kafka needs direct access to Atlas because we are running the mongo source connector. Only viable solution now is to run the mongo source connector on our EKS, which while works defeats the purpose of sass with confluent.io.

    Can you please provide TGW support for Atlas? 12. Control KMIP Key Rotation Timing

    We need the ability to change the automatic key rotation time for our cluster. Currently the automatic rotation is set at 90 days but we cannot specify the time at which the rotation should occur. We want to avoid automatic key rotation activity during business hours.

13. New relic integration

    We have an atlas account where all of are databases are, and we use new relic for monitoring and alerting.
    It would be great if i could show in new relic dashboards of the status of our mongoDB, because all other dashboards are already there

17. "Native" Azure integration (Costing, Resource Groups)

    I would love to do away with MongoDB CosmosDB on Azure - simply because
    a) CosmosDB emulator is troublesome to install (for local development)
    b) Limited MongoDB feature support
    c) Difficulty getting Bulk inserts/upserts to work well in CosmosDB MongoDB (due to rate limiting and bugs with IsUpsert=true)

    Currently we have 18 CosmosDB databases - nfortunately, the main barrier of entry for my organization in adopting Atlas is it's Azure integration - specifically:
    a) Atlas resources are not visible/manageable via Azure Resource Groups - this makes our existing Azure DevOps practices/infrastructure as code obsolete for this (versus all our other resources being managed via Azure CLI
    b) Major issue: Costing - our organization is still fairly new to cloud adoption - we've gotten over most adoption hurdles - but complicating it further by not having the costing aspects integrated with current cloud costing spreadsheets & reporting. In addition - this is also going to make this political and difficult to approve (we're a global organization).

    I would love to do away with MongoDB CosmosDB on Azure - simply because

18. Make IP linking easy for Atlas customers deployed on Google Cloud

    I know it may not seem MongoDB's responsibility, but understanding how to get IP addresses for my Google app engine services so that I can put them in MongoDB (which for some reason wants IP addresses instead of URLs) it's difficult. If MongoDB wants to sell to Google Cloud customers they should make it easy to set up, not only for the billing.
