View billing information at project level
I think it would be a good idea to be able to see billing/invoices at project level. So the project owner will only see the consumption of his projects.
By giving project owners the "Organization Billing Viewer" role, we make it possible for them to see the billing for the whole organization. A new role for the project owner to view only their own project invoices would be nice.

We have recently been working on improving our cost management and reporting processes within AWS.

Include the MongoDB VAT number in the automatically generated invoice
As a foreign company, it is necessary to have the VAT number of the invoice to proceed with corporate expense deductions.

Provide a more granular breakdown of monthly Atlas billing (in the Azure dashboard)
Provided more flexibility/transparency into the monthly Atlas spend for Azure marketplace customers (in the Azure billing dashboard). Ie. allow users to break down spend by project, tag, cluster etc.
Currently, only a single total monthly spend value is available in the Azure dashboard, with no additional details.

Restrict Organization Subscription/Credit to certain Project(s)
We want multiple internal groups to belong to a single Payer Atlas Organization for our company to simplify management but those groups also have separate internal cost centers.
Currently if any single project purchases atlas marketplace subscriptions or commitment subscriptions, they can be consumed by all projects in the Organization (and linked organizations). We want to ensure that only the projects for that purchased the subscription can utilize the subscriptions they paid for.
This is similar to AWS Compute savings plans, where by default they are spread/utilized by any member organization account but you have the flexibility to restrict only…

Data Usage Reporting & Improved Profiler
The Current Problem:
The existing issue stems from MongoDB's inability to provide concrete evidence supporting the data charges for your data usage. This predicament becomes especially troublesome when your system typically operates within a data usage threshold of less than 100GB daily. Suddenly, over a span of 7 days, you are billed for data usage exceeding 1000-2000GB daily, only to subsequently revert to using less than 100GB daily. The absence of substantiated evidence leaves you in a quandary, unsure whether the issue lies with your system or is a reporting error on MongoDB's part. Add more detailed information about SUSPENDED account state
When an account get susspended due to some debt on invoices. Please add a detailed step by step process indicating how the service gonna be stopped after some time. This, becuase today in the email, you only say "please pay the invoice" but you don't give clear information of how or when the cluster gonna be innaccesible to be used (this process is not clear for customer service neather). Note, some time change the payment method can take some time and depend on other instituition.

We need the possibility to request billing invoices via API calls at the project and also cluster level.

Enable me to pay the present account; your web site takes me to an old closed account and doesn't let me update with my new credit card .
Ensure that the billing module of your portal links to the actrive account, not a closed account, so that customers can update their credit card info.

Granular cost and inventory details
We are building a unified portal to view our databases and almost all other managed cloud providers like AWS provide instance level/node level view of clusters.
Currently, there's no way for me to get instance level/node level inventory details.Also, when billing/cost is generated, it's generated on a cluster-level basis. Since we now have separate sizing for Analytical nodes and Electable nodes, it's better to separate out the cost to be at an instance level.
Again, all cloud providers like AWS do give us instance-level costing for EC2/RDS so I don't see why that can't be technically possible.

Please let users know you will be making huge charges for no services provided!
Please let know users that Atlas will generate huge charges for NO usage and will be hit with huge bills without having even used your service. Also, please let users know that MongoDB will not build or compile on Raspberry Pi either Ubuntu or Debian!

Disable duplicate linked Organization names
Currently, one can create multiple linked sub-organizations under a main billing organization, but having the exact same names. The below API command, run repeatedly, will create the same sub-org name with different orgId's. I believe this only serves to confuse administrators and makes management more difficult -- therefore, I'd rather have the API fail with "HTTP 4xx: Another organization already exists with the same name."

Add a button to retry to collect a payment on the billing - invoices tab
Add a button to retry to collect the payment from a credit card on user request. This will help when there are problems with the credit card funds or credit limit.

Public API to get cluster pricing
Currently, we have to use the UI to get a pricing estimate for a cluster. Having a programmatic way to get this estimate would be very valuable.

Ability to download invoices based on custom date range
A customer requested the previous year's invoices. Currently, there's only a way to view/download month by month. Can we improve the UI/UX by allowing the end user to download after selecting a date range via the filters that already exist in the Atlas Billing page?
This would enhance the user's experience in similar scenarios so they would not have to go through 12 separate data downloads to see the previous year of invoices in one dataset.
