1. invoice should show support costs under project and not organization

   We need the support costs (in our case Atlas Pro) to show up for each cluster under the project on the invoice. Right now, it shows up as a separate line item in a lump sum under the organization. It makes it difficult or impossible to properly bill the individual cost centers for support costs for their clusters.

   If those costs showed up next to the clusters within the project, it would be easy to say project1 goes to cost center 1, but now we have to do project 1 goes to cost center 1 plus some percentage of the Atlas Pro support cost also goes to cost center 1.

   In our use case, you are billing us in arrears and sending us an invoice. We were told that the costs would be broken down by project, which isn't entirely true.

2. Migration Tutorial Video

   I did a live migration from mLab to Atlas quite recently. Although, the steps for migration were simple and easy to execute it took me alot of time to get over the fear of migrating without losing any data. A tutorial video of the entire process would have calmed my nerves and helped me take a lot less time in the process.

3. Ability to create and update database triggers via API

   It would be really usefule to have the ability to create and update database triggers via the API. Currently, updates to triggers cannot be integrated into our testing and deployment process because the only way to update them is manually through the interface.

4. Expose the `indexStats` action when creating custom roles in Atlas UI.

   The $indexStats aggregation pipeline allows user to get the statistics regarding the use of each index for the collection. This aggregation pipeline requires the indexStats diagnostic action.

   However, currently Atlas UI doesn't expose this action when creating custom roles. It would be nice to have this action listed in the "Collection Actions => Diagnostic Actions" list.

5. Terminate existing connections from IPs when removed from the whitelist

   When removing entries from an Atlas Project's IP whitelist, existing connections from those IPs are maintained, and thus those hosts can continue to perform operations until the connection times out. I'm aware such connections can be dropped by doing a Test Failover or pausing and unpausing the cluster, but in some scenarios this is not ideal if even possible. This also seems like a security gap: When access is revoked from a particular IP or CIDR block, any existing client connections originating from that IP or CIDR should be terminated and the hosts behind that IP or CIDR should be disallowed from establishing new connections until such a time as they are re-added to the whitelist, if ever.

   When removing entries from an Atlas Project's IP whitelist, existing connections from those IPs are maintained, and thus those hosts can continue to perform operations until the connection times out. 8. Atlas - Preferences - My Date Format - allow 24hr

   We can specify date format but the time format is limited to 12hr clock. Please allow us to specify 24hr so the activity log and rest of the UI is a little easier to read. Thanks

9. Ability to schedule "Hedged read" Turn on/off

   Customer experienced read latency during maintenance after sharding.
   Our guidance is to turn on "Hedged read" option.
   So the customer need to turn on/off "Hedged read" before/after maintenance, because turning on "hedged read" increase CPU usage that means server cost increasing.

   Currently "hedged read" on/off can be done by technical support from MongoDB but this feature is needed for operational efficiency and reducing human error.

11. Enable database users separate read/write permissions based on cluster

    We have multiple clusters in the same project, and we need to limit write access to certain CLUSTERS while leaving read only access to any other cluster. The problem is that we cannot do this by DATABASE name as there are many of them, as well as dynamically addition of new ones in clusters, so it will become obsolete and very hard to maintain.
    Trying to use the restriction does not help as it limits all access, including read only, to those clusters.
    What we'd like to see is that we can limit write access by cluster (not database/collection) and enable read only to the rest.

12. Remove the requirement to have an API Access List CIDR before being able to manage backup schedules

    The issue is described in this github issue, specifically in the linked comment: https://github.com/mongodb/terraform-provider-mongodbatlas/issues/222#issuecomment-855905952

    Here is the requirement as described in the API docs: Remove All Cloud Backup Schedules
    Removes all cloud backup schedules for the specified cluster. "This schedule defines when MongoDB Cloud takes scheduled snapshots and how long it stores those snapshots. To use this resource, the requesting API Key must have the Project Atlas Admin role and an entry for the project access list."

    Our request is that the requirement to have an API Access List to manage backup policies be removed.

    At the very least, it would be good to document why this restriction is in place so folks like me hopefully stop pestering you about it.

    We understand there is a workaround (adding 0.0.0.0/1 and 128.0.0.0/1 CIDR), but that feels very awkward and is unintuitive.

    The behavior just doesn't match the rest of the API and is very unexpected.

    It sounds like the ship has sailed on this one given the discussion in the github issue, and that's actually ok. But an explanation as to why this requirement is in place would be helpful.

    I suspect this has something to do with the Backup Compliance Policy, but stating that would be very appreciated

13. Suggestion to make the Organization Role Mappings page easier to navigate to

    Make Organization Role Mappings page in the Federation Management App quicker to navigate to. Currently the quickest way is to click the "Create Role Mapping" from the Overview page under "Optional: Set Up Advanced Settings" and then click Cancel.

    If the "Optional: Set Up Advanced Settings" box is not longer available in the Overview page, you'll have to click the Organization tab from the side navigation bar > [Organization Name] > Create Role Mapping > Cancel in order to reach the Organization Role Mappings page.

14. Allow private dns names for Atlas private endpoints

    When a customer requires the use of private DNS names for their Atlas private link connection strings, can we allow them to switch on this capability? Basically use a private dns zone instead of a public one and share it as part of the VPC endpoint setup? AWS seems to offer this capability. 15. Test maintenance effects

    While Atlas provides the 'test failover' feature, this only takes effect on the primary of each shard. Customers who run large sharded clusters on Atlas require testing the effects of a full maintenance patch that would restart all mongod's and mongos's, config servers, etc. This feature is a request to improve the chaos engineering features of Atlas.

    At present, customers are being advised to change the TLS version of the cluster which could force restarts of all mongod's, mongos's and config servers. While this may be acceptable in non-production environments, it is unlikely in production environments.

16. disabling mongo user

    Instead of completely removing a Mongo database user, its better if there is option to disable user so that if there is any untoward incident we can enable it back. After observing for some time, we can delete/disable the user based on organization requirements. Its useful in some cases like mongo db user returned to same department after some time .

18. Copy/Duplicate Cluster configuration

    It would be really useful to create a new cluster based on an existing configuration.

    Snapshots are supposed to be loaded into clusters of the same configuration, but having to set up the configuration manually is prone to human error. Having an option to copy the cluster configuration would be helpful.

    Support suggested the following workarounds, but the option should really exist in the UX, given that snapshots can be taken and loaded in the UX.
    - use the API to create all clusters so that the config exists in code
    - use terraform to create clusters

19. Feedback and public roadmap.

    I have voted and written since 2020 several improvement ideas for your platform.

    Being a client for a major insurance company, I'm disappointed to see that for several suggestions dating back more than 12 months, it doesn't even seem to have been looked at by your team.

    It would be more than interesting to have an idea for your roadmap as well as a dynamic management of the catalog of ideas (feedback) maintained by your customers.

    I consider this a lack of respect for your users and customers.
