domain names in access whitelist
Allow domain names in whitelist for IP address. (And rename whitelist to allowlist).
I have a server (app) on heroku. It has a domain name. I don't have a dedicated ip address range. But if I could put my domain name in (myapp.herokupapp.com or myapp.com if I get that name from godaddy), then when my server connects, you could do a DNS lookup of the domain names in the whitelist, and allow connection from those. And then, my app, and many others would be more secure. People could also use dynamic dns to support connections from their home computers, more…

Stop dismissing dialogs by losing focus
When filling in the password field in Atlas user, sometimes I click show then start typing a new password, or Home/end to highlight it. Somehow half the time it dismisses the dialog and I have to start over.
I suspect it is the dialog losing focus. Stop dismissing the dialog when I click off of the box. Other dialogs do the same thing. A lot of web apps do that now and it seems really dumb -- save one specific Cancel click to aggravate me many more times when the dialog I have worked on for 5 minutes disappears.

Allow customer encryption key validation time interval
Currently, Atlas has a 15 minute interval where it checks access to remotely stored Customer Managed Encryption keys for the custom encryption at rest feature.
This value is not changeable, and it implies a problem: access to encryption keys can be lost for longer periods than 15 minutes without that implying that the key has been invalidated by the customer.
A perfect example of this was the recent Azure AD global outage that prevented all authentication to the Azure platform for about 3 hours (complete outage description: https://app.azure.com/h/SM79-F88/691d78). While the key used for one of our clusters was not…

Include cluster labels with Invoices API response.
Using the Invoices API to aggregate cluster costs by label involves cross-referencing the Cluster API. Including cluster label information as part of the Invoices response would eliminate this extra step.

Add API endpoint for Organizational Settings
To be able to change and read Organizational Settings in an automated matter, support for Organizational Settings should be added to the Mongo Atlas API.

Governance rules at the organization level
Hello team,
Would it be possible to be able to set up governance rules at the organization level in order to control certain configuration elements.
For example:
Control authorized providers and regions for an organization to prevent creation of cluster in unauthorized regions. (We must keep the data in Canada for some of our databases)Check the allowed IP (IP Access List) addresses
Disable the use of SCRAMS accounts for database access.
Control the "Data Explorer" functionality at the organization level to prevent its activation at the project level.

Allow to provide names/descriptions for peering connections
If the user has 3 peering connections in a project, it's error prone terminating one, as you may end the connection with the wrong VPC and cause a disaster. Adding a description field allows to clearly see the purpose of the peering.

Add Cluster name to process list api
Currently the processes API (https://docs.atlas.mongodb.com/reference/api/processes-get-all/) returns only the ReplicaSet name of the process not the cluster name, while the cluster API (https://docs.atlas.mongodb.com/reference/api/clusters-get-all/) returns the replicaset name only in the MongoDB URI.
If you have multiple clusters in the same Atlas project and you list the processes is difficult to make an association between MongoDB processes and the Cluster (Atlas UI name)
Would be nice to have also the cluster name in the processes api

[Atlas] Enforce password policy for DB access
Currently is not possible to enforce any kind of password policy via Atlas UI.
Would be nice to let user define an expiration time and password policy that user should meet.14 votes -
Ability to apply the same settings to multiple projects
As described in support case #00739901, we have exceeded the 50 limit of clusters in our production project.
We are going to have a lot of new clusters in the coming year, and they all need to be in the production environment.
There should be a way either to add more clusters to one project or to share the same settings between multiple production projects for growing customers of MongoDB like us.

Support of new EBS Volume type (gp3)
When creating cluster , We have not option to select GP3/GP2. while newly introduce gp3 EBS volume have less price and high IOPS.
So why we need to settle for less.

improve error messaging
We are running into misleading error messages that learners are complaining about. This error appears when a user tries to use a $limit stage and forgets to add a $ while connected to a Free Tier Atlas cluster:
"OperationFailure: limit is not allowed in this atlas tier, full error: {'ok': 0, 'errmsg': 'limit is not allowed in this atlas tier', 'code': 8000, 'codeName': 'AtlasError'}":
This has been confusing for users. Is there a way that we can catch this issue more precisely and issue a syntax error instead?1 vote -
Renaming DATABASE without dump/restore
Hello,
after a discussion with a MongoDB architect during a consulting day, the rename of a database was possible in previous version of MongoDB but now, it's impossible without a dump / restore process.
We don't want use a dump/restore process to rename a database because it's use a lot of time.
Could you tell me why this feature was deleted ? and will it be possible in a future MongoDb version ?
thanks.
regards,

Atlas maintenance Notification should include description of maintenance
Whenever Atlas wants to do maintenance, it is sending email alert about the timing of maintenance. In addition to that we are requesting information about the nature of maintenance also like Mongo patching , BI connector upgrade or increasing no of connections etc. This will give us the information about the work and we can broadcast the same to our counterparts so that they can also use the product efficiently.

Show index build percentage in the UI
During an index build from atlas the only status update you see is:
"We are deploying your changes (current action: configuring MongoDB)"When checking the logs of the replicaset memeber you can actually see the percentage of completion on that member of the replicaset:
2020-11-25T11:15:44.002+0000 I - [conn12] Index Build: 54798100/206784433 26%
It would be nice to have this percentage displayed through the UI.
