Data value labels for stacked bar charts
Hi and thanks for building Charts.
It would be nice to have value labeling like in grouped charts but for stacked charts (should just be the sum of the parts). Right now it's not easy to see the exact amount of Y values as you have to manually sum each part of stack
Thanks!
OK I just added this. Unfortunately it just missed the cutoff for our November release, but you’ll see it in the December release.

Oh, great idea. We should be able to add this pretty soon.

Hi Tom and thank you for your quick reply.
What I'm thinking about is showing it the exact sum of the values of all the segments on top of the column, rather than the value of each segment within itself. If you take the image I posted, it would say e.g. "310.65" on top of the first column which would be the sum of both segments.
I see your point in not labeling the value of each segment also considering that hovering the mouse over a segment does show its value. My point here is that there seems to be no way to see the exact sum of the segments other than picking up a calculator and hovering over each segment with the mouse.
Grouped charts support this feature but it can become hard to read (see attached screenshot) and a stacked bar with a sum would look much better at least for this use case.
Thanks!

Hi, thanks for the suggestion! The reason we don't support data labels on stacked bar charts is that there's no obvious place to put them, especially if some of the segments are small. Do you have any examples of how you'd like this to look?
